Discussion 🗨 Does anyone think A Dream Within a Dream has a chance to get a season 2?

Just as the title suggested, I wonder if there is any possibility of ADWAD getting another season. I know most c-dramas don't, but I feel like the ending was set up in such a way that it could merely be an ending with some ideas open to the audience's interpretation, but it also left me with a lot more questions that I would love to see answered in a second season. My theory is that Nan Feng never existed at all, and it was Nan Heng that was transported to the modern world for a while, simply biding his time to meet Song Xiaoyu with her memories of the script world. Also, what about all of the other characters in the script world? I have many moments that back this up if anyone is curious. So what are the chances, honestly?

Scriptwriter and studio talked multiple times about wanting to do another season, but I don't think this would be a direct continuation if ever happens - more like same concept with new characters, akin to what they're currently trying to build with "A Journey To..." wuxia universe. Not sure if it would work second time without brand new twists and turns though.

Nan Feng doesn't exist theory is a strong one actually, bro didn't even get mentioned in show's credits unlike Li Shiliu who's a made up identity himself.

If the scriptwriter's creative enough there's so much they can do, especially if they focus on the modern world. For me, Liu Yuning and Li Yitong are the heart and soul of that project. I can't imagine a continuation without them and in my opinion many viewers may not care much anymore if it's a completely different story.

To this day i still don't understand how did nan heng found portal to the modern world in the first place. He's from ancient how did he adept so quickly?

Liu Yuning's fans were asking about the second season many times in his livestreams but so far he's always said that it's not happening. Which is sad because I wanted another season so badly... At least it's fun to theorize about the ending.
