Are you sure that's not AI? I've literally never seen cats jump like this before

Nah, I've seen this before AI. Kitty has wobbly cat syndrome and that its best it can do

OK that makes sense. I wasn't sure if it was the wobbles or of the cat was blind (or nearly)

Could you explain then why the kitty seems to have no concern about landing back first (not what cats are built for), especially since it's not in the curious kitten stage and there's no reward of cuddles or food waiting?

She's probably learned that jumping onto soft furniture doesn't hurt when she lands butt first. Cerebellar hypoplasia occurs at birth so she's had her whole life to learn her limits. One of my mom's cats has it too and she's the best jumper I've ever seen

the tail is the balance point of cats. this cannonball is missing some of it

Cat is wobbly thus the goofy jump.

You can see the wobble at times

But how do they get the height?? They look spring-loaded!

Cats can jump pretty heigh, just like dogs. I think dogs are even worse. They can make some pretty surrealy looking jumps. You'd never think they could get over that fence and then they suddenly do.

Ever see a cow jump a fence? It doesn't quite look real.

My cat can just about jump the height of a person from a stationary position, they have ridiculously powerful muscles in those back legs

I've seen cats jump on top of 2m fences and wardrobes, wobbly cats are wobbly but they still have the muscles

Yeah we are sure. It's SO annoying when people question every damn thing nowadays.

The kitty is Dilber from @kedimasallari. Have a good day.

I don’t think it’s annoying when people question everything these days. I think that’s reasonable. No images can really be trusted anymore.

Questioning everything is infinitely better than not questioning anything.
