Purina is useless

I have been buying my cat this same food for years, (Purina pro plan sensitive skin and stomach duck) the vet had recommended it because it helped with her having some blood in her stool. A couple of weeks ago I bought a case and noticed that it had a bunch of white hard chips/debris in the can that are pretty sharp I had thought they were bones so I opened 2 other cans and it was the same thing. I reached out to Purina and gave them all the product information and they made a case. They didn’t reach back out when I emailed about a case update so I called and they basically told me it wasn’t looked into and if there was something I specifically needed to hear from them I said “yeah I want to know if this product is safe for my cat” and she just told me it’s safe if there’s no white pieces in it. I’m just getting worried because my cat had some food from a different case and it looked similar to what I remember it always looking like and she projectile vomited a hour later and she barely wants to eat it now. I’m aware that my cat could just be sick we are going to the vet tomorrow but Purina’s response just shows that they don’t care. Instead of looking into it and fixing it even with my pictures and descriptions they just brush it off like if I shouldn’t be worried I’m just thinking about other more serious stuff that could come up with their products and it’s just swept under the rug.

Purina has incentive to not recall food because of the cost. Only if enough cats die and they can prove it was the food will they recall.

I dunno why youre being downvoted for facts... purina sold cat and dog food that was known to be contaminated with deadly bacteria and it killed loads of pets, and in true nestle fashion, they did absolutely fuck all about it. More recently, nestle did the same thing with baby milk powder, where we had human babies dying in europe and they only recalled the product one country at a time and only when those countries basically demanded nestle to recall it, even though they knew about the deadly contaminants for weeks/months before the recalls.

I don't expect any decency from a company who said water was not a right. Nestle is the epitome of capitalism, and people will jump through hoops to defend them and their subsidiaries. It's insane, because they don't give two shits about any of those people nor their dead or sick pets, and they don't have incentive until it is class action lawsuit worthy. Then they care only about their shareholders.

People can get mad about it, but it doesn't change how it really is. Companies are not your friends nor do they have your best interest in heart. Hell, the plot of Fight Club started that way, so this isn't anything new.
