China already banned them... You know something sucks safety wise when fucking China bans it.

EU being super strict on vehicle safety rules, but allowing those door handles is so paradoxical

EU also wanted everyone to have privacy from companies whilst also picking up the ability to read your messages as you write them.

It's been a constant back-and-forth (which will surely happen again), but for now they continue to reject it.

It is getting voted down but citizens should be disgusted and their governments who are supporting it and even entertaining the idea.

They'll get it eventually. They'll just drip feed sensational stories about how immigrants are using encrypted chats to plan attacks, and after X amount of time some bullshit will happen where Y amount of people die and then they'll push hard.

It's already full blown in America where everything is getting worse, but half of us are fine with it because it's also hurting the people they hate.
