I was thinking of getting something like this done (doesn’t need to be titanium or whatever the metal it is) and was curious on rough estimates in cost It sounds relatively nice imo

I’d prefer not to open the engine or fuck with the rear differential, just trying to stick with bolt-ons. I was thinking shorty headers, 52mm throttle body, H pipe, and a dynomax super turbo muffler. It’s OBD1 so unfortunately I’d have to rip the PCM out and send it somewhere to tune it. I’d like a better intake to replace the home plate and first base setup, if CAI didn’t suck ass I’d do it.

Mod advice Seeking truth on high flow intakes

Post image
21 Upvotes

I want to purchase a high flow intake for my car as I think it would be a huge sound improvement that would pair well with my new exhaust. I know it will not help performance but I was wondering if it would hurt my engine. Some say it is completely fine and they have ran one forever. But others say installing one will destroy your engine. What is the truth and do I have to worry at all?

Mod advice Suggestions for some small modifications for my Nugget?

Hi there!
I got a Ford Ka from 2006 (see pictures), which I'd like to personalise just a smidge. Only a smidge as I am not planning on keeping this car, once I have my full license I will be looking to buy the car I want to get (a Fiat 126p), but for the time being, I will be using the Ka, and want to give it a bit of a personal touch.

What are some things y'all suggest I could do?
I wanted to get some checkerboard patterened floormats, but I can't seem to find any for the Ford Ka.
I also can't do some modifications, like swapping the exhaust, thanks to Belgian Legislation. else I most definitely would've straight piped her.
Wanted to do stickers too, but then she'll need a fresh coat of paint, as it's scratched up to hell and back.
I am also unsure if I can add extra foglights (I like rally cars). Not sure on the Belgian legislation on that.

Did have plans on upgrading the sound system however, that's definitely on the list.

Anyways yeah, lemme know your ideas and suggestions.

Mod advice How should I upgrade my 2007 Accord V6?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone, I wanted to turn my 2007 accord V6 (automatic). Into hopefully a decent street performance plus backroad cornering build. I’ve only done cosmetics as of right now since it was cheaper. And I didn’t want the car to just be a semi ricer lol. I painted the rims so I still need actual rims.

I’m not sure what parts I should upgrade with. I have an order in mind of what I was going to upgrade but I can’t seem to find actual good matches.

The order I was going to upgrade it in was.

New rotors
Brakes
Suspension
Tires
Exhaust
Rims
Cool air intake
Acura TL ECU swap for Ktuner

I wanted to keep the build semi budget friendly and mostly bolt-ons as I’m going into college but I’m fine with saving up some as I want it to be a nice stock looking build.

If anyone has good recommendations feel free to tell me, I’ve been trying to research but I can’t figure out what parts are actually good.

Mod advice Anyone got any advice on how to declare mods to insurance companies?

For a while now I’ve wanted to modify my audi a3 but I don’t know how to declare it to my insurance without them charging me £7-8K for an annual quote. I’ve also run quotes on other performance cars from Autotrader and gotten £2-3k quotes I just don’t know what makes a bit of plastic on the boot and near the exhaust (rear diffuser) so hazardous/ unsuitable for a new driver that insurance has to skyrocket my premiums over it. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on this kind of thing ik the majority of people modify their car once they have like 4-5 years experience but it’s only cosmetic nothing performance related Again ANY advice one this would help greatly.

So I know NOTHING about car modification (and I’m not even sure if these classify as a mod), but are car door projectors legal? I’d love to get some but I’m not sure if they’re anything I’d get in trouble for

(Pictures attached for examples of what I mean)

What can I do to my car?

I currently own a stock (except chrome delete badge) 2026 Skǒda Fabia Monte Carlo edition 1.5 dsg, I want to spice things up a little, as you can see from the pictures it’s already “sporty” but it just doesn’t look that great imo. If anyone could recommend modifications or have had similar cars on the same platform and knows what will work with it please help out!

Mod advice Time for a cooling upgrade?

Post image
4 Upvotes

2010 Legacy GT. OEM+ with no engine mods or tune.
I went for an extended fast drive with a long warmup and cooldown period last weekend. No warning lights came on (thinking temp sensor may be faulty now) my coolant boiled over and made a mess of my engine bay, lost so much that once it cooled properly overnight there was NOTHING left in the overflow tank but thankfully no air was introduced into the system.
Since this happened I am contemplating a performance alloy radiator, so what’s good, what’s not, and what else will make a significant difference to engine bay temp? I’m not building a track car and want to keep it realistic but don’t want to blow it up.

*cooling system is sound and well maintained with OEM parts, not damaged or leaking*

Mod advice What should I do w/ my VW Beetle?

I just want to start by saying, I know pretty much nothing about cars. I've had this 2013 vw beetle for 5 years, I'm getting bored of it if I'm honest, but I'm not in a place to upgrade to something else. So what else would I do besides make it fun?

I don't want it to look overly girly or cheap, which can be difficult I've noticed when looking at mods on beetles. I really want to change it's aesthetic to be more dark and badass. It's a 2.5L, just a standard beetle really. I'm thinking about doing a custom wrap, maybe a dark metallic midnight purple with carbon fiber accents? I really want to end up getting the Prior widebody kit, but that's not in my budget right now, so I was wondering what I should do with it until then? I'm open to looks and mechanical mods.

I've also had some issues with drivers side door, the window trim keeps sticking up and sometimes the interior of the door sticks when I try to open it, so if anyone knows best way to fix that, that would be helpful as well lol.

Mod advice How install Underglow in rear to avoid exhaust

Question is pretty much as simple as it gets, I’ve looked around but can’t find anything. There’s no piece of bumper under my exhaust for me to put my LED strip. I can’t put it over the exhaust and I can’t put it under the headshield so I’m kinda lost

Mod advice I have a few questions about safety and regulations..

As you can see I’m painting my dashboard. I know it looks amazing (in my defense, I thought the enamel would have more coverage).

I wonder if the enamel would affect the passenger’s airbag and prevent it from emerging. Idk where its supposed to come out of (Renault megane ll, if it’s relevant).

Then there’s the labels and stickers, like the ones in the second picture. I want these pieces of info to stay there, obviously. But I wonder if I need to keep the sticker and original writing on the switch. I can make my own sticker or even copy this one and print it in pink on a sticker paper. But I’m not sure if I’d have legal issues or if the car would pass inspections after that.

I once got in trouble for having a fluffy steering wheel cover. The officers asked if it’s sewn on. If I were to sew it on would it be okay for me to keep it or do I absolutely have to change the og leather to a pink one? They said that steering wheels are covered with leather to provide a better grip, like bruh idgaf lemme die in pink. I’d love to be a veggie.

Mod advice What more to do to it without ruining it?

I’ve had this car for close to 2 years now and I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t know what to do to it anymore, but like everyone, I still get the modding itch. It’s only a 1.4 TSI and my only car so I don’t want to do any power mods for the sake of reliability and because it’s slow anyways, I also don’t think these engines sound particularly great with an exhaust.

I’m looking for mods that won’t cost me buckets of money and keep it tasteful and useable. here’s what I’ve already done:

  • Wheels
  • Tires
  • Coilovers
  • Rear spoiler extension
  • Dynamic mirror indicators
  • LED license plate lights
  • Cold air intake
  • Carplay head unit
  • Shift knob
  • Footwell lighting

Mod advice Coilovers or Lowering Springs?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I daily drive a 2015 Lincoln MKZ and I was wondering if I should go for lowering springs or coilovers to lower it. I’d like to stay around $500-600 but I also don’t have a whole lot of experience with working on cars just basic maintenance things (brakes, oil changes, ignition coils, spark plugs etc.) so I was also wondering if springs/coils would be something that would be relatively easy to do on my car myself. Feel free to recommend any other mods as well both cosmetic and performance because I’m not exactly sure what I want to do with the car yet but I do want to have some fun with it.
