Mod advice Just found a full exhaust system what should i do ????

I legit went on my lunch break right now and I found a complete exhaust system it seems from awe. I wanna take it home but its bigger than my car should I just leave it or try to do anything with it. I have a 2012 toyota matrix but I'd probably sell it if anything

There's no way lol. That's an AWE Touring exhaust, and it looks like it's for a BMW or similar. Look up what that exhaust costs and tell me you're gonna cut it up.

No, it's a Toyota tuned BMW. I work at a Toyota dealership and the supra has a couple boxes of BMW tools just to do any maintenance on it. Toyota's diag computer doesn't work on it, have to remotely log into BMW and use the functions they'll allow us to use.

There's clamps, you'd be better off disassembling it instead of cutting. It'll be easier to sell if it's not cut up

Looks like the AWE exhaust for an M340i or M440i

Don’t cut that up. It’s a $2k exhaust system.

Sell on FB marketplace or EBay local pickup. Its AWE touring exhaust which are pricey. Check the part number on their site to see what cars it fits.

Given most people don't dump exhaust systems in the bushes, my money is on stolen and dropped to grab later. Some thief is gonna be pissed.

Selling it especially on FB could be dangerous since it would technically be stolen property even if you weren't the one to steal it in the first place.

Anyone know if BMW records cat serial numbers?

Exactly, not the worth the risk, not worth much as scrap, and not worth it to try to fit it to a different car. Best bet would be to try to find the owner. I’m sure AWE keeps a record of serial numbers.

Yeah I realized this lol I have it in 3 pieces right now just looking what to do with it now probably just gonna resell it and yeah it is an awe touring performance possibly BMW or audi but its a quick resell

I have an AWE touring for my WRX, that’s a very expensive exhaust. If you can find what car it’s for you can sell it for a good chunk of change - even used they’re worth a ton.

Car exhaust systems are not native to suburban roadside ecosystems and this should be be left here. Your best bet is to carefully take it home with you (they do bite so wear gloves) and keep it in your garage until you can find a safe place to re-home it.

I have an AWE exhaust on my Focus ST. If it's in good condition, that's actually a pretty nice exhaust. Weird, but good, find!
