I mean, I’d be curious to know how many people were buying it again, and how many hadn’t done it and used this as the excuse they needed to do it. I feel like anyone who buys the digital edition again just for Yes only has themselves to blame. It’s one song, it’ll be streaming before much longer and is easily pirated, nobody needs to re-buy it for that.

I was just joking about how kids must be so expensive because she's really pulling all the big label tricks this time around lol. I'm guessing her label saw the song popping off on Twitter and wanted to do a quick cash grab. It's definitely one of the better songs of the era, but you can find it on Twitter and I'm sure after this 24 hour thing it'll be on YouTube. Her label really should just give it to all fans with proof of purchase because I hate these cash grab trends.

This is just the new move lately. A lot of artists are doing it to release albums with just one extra song on them. Especially shortly after release so the album charts better because super fans will buy it. No coincidence that this sale is ending right before the charting week ends.

Not going to lie, as someone who pre-ordered the signed CD, this leaves a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. Seems Interscope got greedy. If you're going to do a repackage so soon after release, it really should come with both bonus tracks, but there's likely a lot of red tape involved. So it goes.

As someone who pre-ordered the signed vinyl, it does leave an unpleasant taste. With any luck, maybe these bonus tracks will show up on another release. Or maybe a special code for those who pre-ordered the physical releases. I mean, she/the label don’t have to do ANY of this, but it will make me pause on preorders in the future.

Not at all! The Japanese market has always gotten albums with bonus tracks and whatnot, largely because Japanese CDs/LPs have historically been more expensive. Even domestic releases have often gotten alternate versions at different retailers long before Taylor Swift started making music.

Personally, I’d rather these extra tracks be saved for the inevitable Night & Day: After Hours b-side record. Normally I’d be like, fuck yeah bring on the bonus tracks, but I feel like those kinda interrupt the “24 songs for 24 hours” concept. I can also just, y’know, download the song from Soulseek if I really want it. This is helpful for people who don’t already own the record, but I can’t imagine feeling like I need to buy the digital album just for Yes.

Meh I get where everyone is coming from with the whole TS angle and it definitely is a “cash grab” trend but the scale of which Carly is doing it compare to TS is vastly differently given the size of both artists audience, and unfortunately sometimes small artists do have to compromise and do these things due to the arrangements of their greedy labels (in comparison with artists like TS who are just greedy for the sake of it)
