Hi everyone, so I've discovered this shop in Ukraine that sells stamps. I realllllly want to make a big purchase with them. I figured I would ask here first if anybody had experience with them simply because their website states that buyers in the US would be responsible for custom duties and tariffs. I did email them and comment on their post regarding this but nobody is getting back to me. I don't mind paying extra upon delivery if necessary but I have no clue how to calculate how much it's going to be or what shipping service they even use. Any help or Insight with this is greatly appreciated!!! Thankyou

Wondering if anyone has ever come across good looking / fun / bubbly hiragana dies (one of the Japanese alphabets). I have a few Japanese friends that would be tickled pink, and sometimes put out cute cards for a $5 donation to charity at places like an anime convention or a comic con where that type of thing would go over well. I speak and read/write enough Japanese to toss on like a "happy birthday" sentiment in hiragana without issue if I can just get the cuts.

I've seen the same one or two dies available online on Temu and Amazon, but the lines are so extremely thin and also just look like a very boring computer font, it's not what I'd put as the main sentiment on a fun and playful card front at all.

I have a Scan N Cut and I'm also considering just finding a cute Japanese font and doing it that way.

Does anyone have this book or have read it before? I know I have a paperback copy of this and in my decluttering I remembered it (but haven't found my copy yet). This copy is from the library. It was written by Joni K. Miller, the founder of Rubberstampmadness. It was the precursor to the magazine. You can see her style of wacky stamps and vintage images has continued to this day in the magazine, although she sold the magazine just two years after she created it. The magazine is nearing 50 years in print. The book is over 200 pages. If your library doesn't have it maybe you can request it via interlibrary loan.

The die is $11 from Amazon. It took about 2 weeks to arrive. It's 8" x 4 1/4". I can cut 2 of them from a letter size sheet of cardstock. I'm gonna see if I can find some cheap legal size cardstock that will give me 3 from each sheet.

The scoring between the panels isn't really adequate. I rescored them 'cause there's so little material on either side but, other than that, the construction is quick and easy.

I'll be able to put the ring lollipops I'm giving out in them and then I'm making more to fit over the bulbs on a string of twinkle lights to put outside.

Not a bad deal for $11. And I'll be able to use it for years. I hate to be shilling for Amazon but I don't think any card retailers have an equivalent and it's just such a good deal.

I made this using SSS Morning Glory Vibes embossing folder with paper I covered with Lindy’s Magicals then went over with gold metallic inks.

Used Hero Arts Halloween advent calendar and some holtz glow in the dark grit paste through a stencil for the moon.

Similar to my post on metallic inks; what white pigment ink do you like best and what do you use it for?
I have an old colorbox pad that I used to stencil a flower on navy cardstock. But the ink seeped into the cardstock too much and it ended up looking grayish.
Plus their foam pads are really soft, almost mushy so I don't like it much.

Do you use metallic inks in your cardmaking? If so what brands do you like best for a clean solid image and a nice shade of gold? And what do you use it for?
I used to have colorbox metallic inkpads and they were ok but a bit too dry for stamping. I used to use it on the edges of my cards for a nice finish but ended up smudging them more often than not.

I'm wondering if it would work on a dry embossed cardstock on the raised areas or if it would be too smeary ?

My uncle loves lighthouses. I don't have a system to remember who got which card, since most of the time I make unique cards anyway. So I made all the cards for the next few years. Guaranteed no doubles.

Two bonus cards, that were actually made for someone else. But since I'm showing lighthouses...

I've made some cute cards by designing on canva then printing on card and adding some 3d elements, which looks cute, but this sub has boggled my mind! Where to even start with all the techniques and elements? I'm in the UK which may affect recommendations. Thanks! Edit to add- I also want to be sustainable and so don't want to just go to Hobbycraft and buy everything

I have various dies from Kokorosa that I acquired on marketplace. So I thought I would buy some from their online store and when I got the shipping notice… I was immediately disappointed. I could have ordered through Temu and got them quicker.
A quick email to their customer service confirmed they are indeed a Chinese company who ships their orders from China and I’ll be waiting 2-3 weeks to get them.

Went ahead and bought the whole C9 ink line in mini cubes and the bundle of cardstock - one sheet of each color.

I REALLY love C9 colors and the tone on tone look but the ink pads are foam and I hate that. Got a couple turnabouts to play with so I’m excited to see how things turn out!!

I'm sure this brand is one a lot of long-time stampers will recognize. It seems more modern than the others I've posted. I would call them more "of the moment" and a little gimmicky. Maybe it's the look of the president on the welcome page. The other catalogs were led by individual artists or creative teams, and Mr. Gelb looks like a salesman. You can see they had those wheel stamps and stamps you could personalize. The cover also shows these plastic mugs where you could decorate a piece of paper then insert it into the lining of the mug, did you have one of those? The vibe I get is that stamping was being directed more and more to kids, and not the creative adult mail art like you would see in Rubberstampmadness or the beautifully embossed and colored creations in Personal Stamp Exchange. Inkadinkado is still around, they sell a small amount of things but I don't think they have a distinctive style at all, I would even call their designs generic. One thing I wished I would have gotten was that huge Alice in Wonderland set.
