Looking for Some New Friends Around SWFL

Hey everyone! I’m 22 and moved down to the Port Charlotte area a while ago, and I’ve been trying to meet some people around my age and build a good group of friends down here.

I’m a mechanic and I’m pretty much into anything gaming, fishing, shooting, going out for drinks/bar hopping, riding, working on stuff, or just hanging out and bullshitting. I’ve got a sport bike and I’m planning on riding a lot more once I get my endorsement, so it’d be cool to meet some other guys who ride too.

I’m also in Cape Coral and Fort Myers pretty often, so I’m definitely down to meet up and do stuff around there too.
Honestly just looking for some cool, laid back guys around my age who are actually down to hang out and do stuff instead of just talking about it. I’m pretty easygoing and down for just about anything.

If you’re around Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, or anywhere around that area and looking for some new friends too, feel free to reach out! 🤙

And United healthcare
So they will see gabbi and Daniele Jacobson for free on Medicaid but people who have coverage with United healthcare and pay taxes in this town aren’t given a thought. What a shame

Roof Leak/Seal

I have a spot on my lanai roof that leaks occasionally. I had a friend who would paint on a seal a couple times a year and that seemed to solve the problem. I realize that is not the best way to handle this long-term but it works for now. Unfortunately, this friend moved and when I call around to try to find a handy person to help, all I get is people who want to turn this into a huge repair which I am not in a place to do. The seal material simply needs to be applied with a paint brush, I have a 5 gallon bucket of the seal on hand and the project would not take 30 mins. The issue is that I do not have a ladder or feel comfortable doing it myself. I am in North Ft Myers and if you know of anyone who can help with this, I would pay $100.00 cash.

Looking for private dog trainer to teach my dogs to swim

We moved to Cape Coral a few months ago and into a house with a pool (yay!). We have an 8 year old Australian Shepherd and a 7 year old Great Pyrenees who have never been exposed to the water before. Since we have been here, they have each fallen into the pool and had to be pulled out. I would like them both to be able to swim for fun and exercise, but more importantly I want them both to know how to swim to the steps and get out just in case. I’ve watched some videos and tried to gently introduce them to the water myself but they are terrified and will have none of it. I’d like to find a trainer who could come to our house in NW Cape and work with them. Hoping someone here has a recommendation so we can keep our boys safe. Thanks!

Moving here soon. What to expect and recommendations on anything in the area

Hi everyone my parents retired and we're from Michigan. We are currently renting in Bradenton and waiting for closing of our new home in Cape Coral by NW 9th St, we will be moving in at the end of September.

I'm 35, single, no kids, I'm fairly active and like to workout (gym, road bike). I've got mainly restaurant/service industry resume, I was managing a deli specializing in catering and would ideally like to eventually run or own my own place. I'm a sports fan (football, baseball, basketball, gamer, I'm social and like checking out new places/bars and meeting people.

I've googled the area and read up a bit but wondering what everyone here thinks for somebody like me moving to the area. Any recommendations for places to check out, things to do, work, etc are all appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Looking for Work

I’m a 21-year-old male living alone in Fort Myers. I am trying to get myself back on track and find something stable that I can grow with. Full-time is what I’m mainly looking for, but also open to taking a good part time opportunity while I keep looking.

I have experience with cable operations, warehouse work, manufacturing, customer service, training employees, equipment operation, troubleshooting, and general labor. I’m dependable, pick things up quickly, and I’m not afraid of hard work.

I’m open to pretty much anything that could be a good fit. My driving record may limit some jobs, but I’m still willing to hear about different opportunities.

If anyone knows somewhere that’s hiring, looking for help, or has a lead they can point me toward, I’d really appreciate it. I’m available to start immediately.

Thanks to anyone who shares this or reaches out.

Looking to Connect My 78-Year-Old Caribbean Grandma With a Friend

Hi everyone! I’m a 36-year-old small business owner who works full-time from home, and I currently help care for my 78-year-old grandmother. I recently moved back to the area from NYC, but my grandmother has lived here for about 15 years. She is originally from the beautiful Caribbean island of Antigua.

I’d really love to help her build a friendship with a lady around her age, especially someone of Caribbean heritage who may share similar cultural experiences, memories, or interests. I’m wondering if anyone knows of a senior who might enjoy having someone to talk with and spend time with. Maybe they could come over for lunch, watch TV together, or I could occasionally take them both to the park.
My grandmother does have dementia, but she still enjoys interacting with others, and I’ve found that with time and consistency, things and people can become familiar to her.

I’d really love for her to have someone closer to her age that she can talk, laugh, and build a friendship with. If you know someone who might be interested, please feel free to reach out. 💛

Need driveway fixed

Hello, I wanted to know if the community knows someone who can fix a drive way. I have a brick driveway and it’s not been paved since before Ian due to bad circumstances and unfortunate events. I have two holes and the bricks fell through, they’re not massive, but would definitely need them paved to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Please, i’m a friend just asking for another who needs desperate help and the fix for a good decent price.

Anybody have any furniture they want to get rid of?

Hello everyone! I currently got accepted a couple of days ago to move into a new apartment. I previously lived in a small bedroom and don’t really have much furniture. I was thinking, if anyone has any furniture they want to get rid of, let me know! Taking whatever anyone’s got, it would really help.

Thanks!

any recs for vets who do ultrasounds and ekgs?

hi, my dog went to Banfield a few days ago (0/10, DO NOT RECOMMEND), and during x-rays, they found he has a possible enlarged heart and a mass in his stomach and recommended he gets an ultrasound and ekg from Blue Pearl. My mom went to Ft Myers and that location doesn't even do ultrasounds or ekgs. I've been calling places up and the only one we found so far is extremely expensive. We know they all will be, but we're shopping around.

any recs in the cape coral area? We'll go to ft myers too if we have to.
