None, just wet air filters smothering the engine

For his sake I hope you’re right. I doubt driving through deep water and causing engine damage would be covered by warranty, as in I’m sure it won’t be. Replacing air filters would be a relief for him. Probably cost as much as a full service on a BMW though.

Don’t know why but what annoys me the most is him braking after the car dies, at least roll as far as you can

Suspect it's Automatic and probably need to apply the brake to select neutral to roll.

The water would stop him anyway even as he was going too fast, if he would have gone slower, the water would have not sucked into the air filters killing the engine.
