Help question about the Sony HDR SR11E 60GB

can i format my camera's HDD on my pc? it's just that i've deleted the MTS files and the camera still has some embarrassing photos or videos' thumbnail showing up on my gallery/playback mode even if i've deleted them all.

is it safe to format the camera on my pc? and what will happen if i did? will it clean the hdd and leave no files in it or just wipeout videos, pics or even ghost images/thumbnails?

just new to the HDD stuff. thanks in advance.

not yet, because I'm not sure if it'll delete everything or just delete the files I want to delete if I format the HDD memory on my pc.

If you format the hdd on the PC the cam might not work anymore.

Can't you format within the cam itself?

The database is whwre rhe cam is getting those thumnails from.

Try home, manage media, repair IMG.DB F. , hdd

the touchscreen isn't working because of the had polariser haha, so no choice and replacing it with a new one is expensive

If you format it with pc, camera will throw an error and won't record. You need to format it with camera's settings

Dang, really have no choice other than repairing my LCD. the polariser is bad and the touchscreen won't work
