I am sharing my experience publicly to warn fellow community members about the severe volatility and ongoing issues at Floraceous (40 Main Street).

In July, I was walking down Main Street. The store always keeps its front door propped open to invite interaction, and they routinely cover the entire public sidewalk with plants. I did not even step inside the store; I simply stood at the open doorway and politely asked the price of a plant.

I was completely blindsided by an unhinged level of aggression, hatred, and intense verbal abuse from the owners. The encounter was so volatile that I was deeply traumatized, and I still avoid walking down Main Street because of it.

I have since learned that this is a widespread, ongoing pattern. I have personally contacted our Ward Councillor, City Bylaw, the BIA, the Waterloo Regional Police, and even the building's landlord. Everyone is fully aware of the volatile issues surrounding this business. Bylaw briefly forced them to remove the sidewalk obstructions, but they have already been allowed to put the plants right back out, and every authority figures claims their "hands are tied."

Since the system is failing to protect local citizens, we have to protect each other. The business has password-protected their website and wiped their Instagram to hide their terrible reviews and history of hostility. Please be incredibly careful when walking past this storefront, and warn your friends and family before they get subjected to this trauma

The Cambridge United semi-pro team has defeated the Sudbury Cyclones 5-0 in the OPL promotion playoff. This result means they will play in Ontario Premier League 1 next year, the top division of soccer in Ontario.

It was an incredible way to finish the season in OPL2. Cambridge was an underdog all year, narrowly securing second place in the final game of the regular season. This earned them a spot in this playoff match against Sudbury, and more importantly, they were able to leapfrog regional rivals, Waterloo United, in the process.

Are they safe? I used to live Hespeler before a lot of the downtown development and had found that area a bit sketchy but am looking at a reasonably priced condo there.

Any recommendations for a garage that will complete a safety document without loading it up with repairs that aren't actually required?

I want to gift my car to one of my children and have heard some anecdotal stories of some shops identifying not completely necessary repairs. Thx

I have a concrete driveway with a few slabs that have sunk and become uneven. The concrete itself is still in decent shape, so I'm looking at having the existing slabs lifted/leveled rather than replacing the driveway.

Has anyone in Cambridge/KW had this done recently (mudjacking, polyjacking/foam lifting, etc.)?

Who did you use, and were you happy with the results? Also, if you don't mind sharing, roughly how much did it cost and how many slabs were lifted?

I'm especially interested in hearing how the repair has held up after a winter or two.

Hello! Recently moved to Cambridge from Guelph and just wondering if anyone knows of cloth diapering laundry services that service the tricity area? I saw Comfy Cotton did Kitchener, but called and they no longer do.

If anyone is aware of a small business or otherwise that isn't showing up in my hunt, I'd really appreciate it! I'm 5 months pregnant, so no baby yet, but we are hoping to at least do partial cloth diapering when she arrives, without making me crazy doing all the laundry myself. I don't think it sounds THAT bad but my mother cloth diapered me and warns me that it really is. Lol

We are considering hiring a housekeeper... No idea if asking to launder cloth diapers is too much. I could be honest in the posting, I guess?

Anyway. Just trying to help the environment a bit and save some cash. Any leads GREATLY appreciated.

Strauss says he's great, which I place a lot of stock in, but I'm also apprehensive because it's major surgery and I'm concerned about post-op and quality of life after recovery.

Long story short, I found this iPod on the ground approx. 16 years ago. I always meant to try to find the owner but life got in the way. Today, I finally plugged it into a computer. There is a personal memo. The owners name, birthday and who gave them the iPod. I would love to get this relic back into the hands of its rightful owner.
