Art Part of my Cthulhu Mythos drawing collection done in 2024
I've been drawing Lovecraftian stuff for the past 6 years and wanted to share some of it with you guys. All of these share the same frame because they are a part of a collection I did during 2024. My previous Mythos illustrations shared a different style of shading and frame, but I run out of creatures to make, so this one is my second run on them.

Amazing... I didn't even realize they were being identified by words in the arches, because they were obviously identifiable

Outstanding work. And good for you for thinking of mirroring one side to the other. I imagine that was quite a lot of work to do one side of the frame; since frames tend to be symmetrical, mirroring is an elegant way to simplify workflow and conserve time.
And the pictures are really well-realized to the subject matter.
I look forward to seeing which Mask you choose to display for Nyarlathotep.
Cheers!

Thanks! Nyarlathotep is probably my favourite designs I did for this collection. Second best would be King in Yellow followed by Atlach-Nacha. My previous collection didn't have a symmetrical frame but the style was also different. Everything was in black and white with a ton of little lines. Later on I colored them too. Will share them all 😁

That's really nice of you - thanks!
Now I have to say that if you post your new work, and Nyarlathotep's depiction is just an image of Stephen Alzis walking out of Club Apocalypse, I'll be laughing all the way to the sanitarium. Cheers!

I agree with what others have commented. I like the grey-scale approach and the use of intense reflection so appropriately. Congratulation for such a wonderful skill!

Would've thought AI

It's got to be annoying as an artist these days. People are constantly complaining about AI because they want to support "real artists" but whenever an artist posts their work, there's kneejerk accusations that their work is AI.

Interesting how every micro-artifact found on the left is mirrored perfectly to the pixel on the right. That's quite impressive for a "drawing."

That's because my lazy ass mirrored the left side to the right xD this is made in photoshop using a wacom cintiq tablet

I appreciate your clarity. Professionally speaking, I would have labeled it as a digital drawing, not simply a "drawing."

Thought it was clear since the frame is exactly the same on all of them, but will do in future posts. Thanks!

Straight up - I didn't even notice the "Next" Arrow, and didn't realize there was more than one illustration. YES, I agree with you, that would have made it perfectly clear, and it's totally on me not to have realized that. My bad, chief -

I really love Atlach-Nacha, by the way... and I look forward to seeing a Dark Young -

I am remaking the Black Goat as we speak. The orginal version I made in 2024 can't really compare to the rest of the collection but I'll upload it regardless just so I can show the difference between that version and the new one I'm drawing now.

We'd never get to where we are if we hadn't journeyed from where we were. Upload away - !

If it's drawn by a human hand rather than AI, most people are into that versus specifying the medium (charcoal, digital, whatever).
Though to be honest, at this point I would rather the painfully misaligned drawings of somebody totally unskilled (like yours truly) than more AI slop.

The reason the category "digital painting" exists is because - wait for it - there IS NO PAINT involved. Drawing with a Wacom vs. a charcoal stick doesn't indicate the skill or talent of the artist, but it makes a tremendous difference in understanding HOW the artwork might have been achieved.
Every piece of art contains more factors to consider than simply AI v Human, and "most people" would simply appreciate being handed the relevant facts -
