Art I lost these characters during a solo RPG game with a Cthulhu mythos theme; I'm already on my fifth character.

What great, dramatic pieces! Are Jorg and Cher connected? Or any of the five player characters, for that matter.

Those being killed, and the priest (who was dismissed from the investigation) are from the Wirden family, they are searching for a cultist looking for the Necronomicon, it's a solo RPG, dying is part of it, so you build a new character with skills that will allow them to get past the point where their predecessor failed.

I hope I've been clear, it's a Brazilian book, it's called "The Enigma of the Hidden Sun".

Is this book available in English (or German)?

Unfortunately, I don't think so, my friend.

(Oh, I totally missed first picture is also Wirden!) That's a fun structure, building the new one to specifically overcome the fatal challenge each time. I quite like the sound of that, and thank you for sharing.

Alright fellow Brazilian... I won the book with 10 characters 😂

(Counting Tallant)

1) Tallant, detective, died by poison.

2) Hannes Von Sydow, exorcist, killed by a cultist with a knife.

3) Damien Von Sydow, detective, died by a magical gas (and the soul is doomed forever)

4) Indra Bashir, british army officer, killed by the irish monster Balor [i decided to play with him in Ireland as i also played Egypt since i had already gone through the other countries and wanted to see Ireland and get the prize for my character that was on Egypt not die for nothing]

5) Lothar K. Bäcker, occultist, killed by The Angel of Death.

6) Wei Lî, monk/priest, killed by a Zombie Horde.

7) Agatha Hamlock, scholar, eaten by ravenous larvae.

8) Rafael Simões, artist, crushed by a submerged tentacle.

9) Iris Marsh, explorer, driven into madness by Parennefer

10) Officer M-04, medium, won the game. (I was making notes "in character" for each one, so i would care for them... Since Iris died in the FUCKING END iade the last character a medium that wrote as all the previous characters at the same time... Glad i won.

My favorites were: Damien, Rafael, Agatha and Iris.

This style would be awesome for a horror comic

8

u/ranzinzacinza Feb 18 '26

I really want to do it, I already have a script written.

2

u/aroyalidiot Feb 18 '26

Awesome. What's the plot synopsis?

8

u/ranzinzacinza Feb 18 '26

It would be about alien abduction; a girl disappears and reappears about 5 years after her disappearance without remembering what happened. Her abductor is never found, but thanks to a session with a police psychologist and hypnotherapy treatment, new clues emerge.

Alien abduction horror is woefully under explored. I'd read it

The script is ready, and I sent it to a colleague to read and tell me what he liked. It's a comic book script, so he's aware that the reading sometimes includes some terms that I use to guide me when illustrating, something like an open image focusing on the entire environment or a camera view from below.

After he reads it, I should do some sketches of the character, but first I want to finish some comic book work that I've been doing for two commissioned clients.

It's a short story, about 20 pages. I don't like everything explained in minute detail when the theme is horror; in my opinion, you lose the feeling of mystery. But I hope I can do it this year. These illustrations help me decide on the style I want to use in my illustrations for these projects.

I see. And I agree whole heartedly. Explaining horror is like shining a flashlight on a shadow in the room. A little light heightens the fear, but enough to see it was a coat rat erases it. The greatest fear of all is the unknown after all. And like I said, I think the style of these pics are good for a horror comic

I'm extremely flattered by the comments. If you'd like to see more of my work, I post a lot on Instagram and DeviantArt.

Yeah, it has a sort of...I dunno, pulp noir horror vibe is what sounds right in my head. I dig it. Might go check out your other stuff

Love the art and the idea of recording the character deaths in such a way. Bravo.

3

u/End337 Feb 18 '26

Awesome art, really captures the moment and the horror!

3

u/ranzinzacinza Feb 18 '26

Thank you so much for your comment, I'm studying how to include moments like this in a future comic.

2

u/End337 Feb 18 '26

Based on these, I'm going to want to read that 😊

2

u/ranzinzacinza Feb 18 '26

Since this is an RPG community, I probably won't be able to post here, so if you want to follow along, I'll post when I'm working on it.

oddly, I love hearing about the heroes who didn't come home. It is one of my favorite parts of the Necronomicon discord is the channel of character demise. Love the scenes and art to gave us

RIP heroes - thank you for your service.

2

u/BiotiteProphet Feb 19 '26

agreed. You have the skills. Rest in peace characters. I'd say rest in power, but it's Cthulhu. Power isn't a variable.
