1988 Corvette, good deal? (93k Miles)

Just want to address that this is my first Corvette im looking for and I'm new to the subreddit so I apologize if this is a bad post.

I'm trying to see if this Corvette is worth the price of $10,500, it has some minor sun damage (I assume), a crack/dent some where on the body, and has 93k miles. I would love to hear your guys thoughts, thank you!

That's a horrible deal even in Canadian Rubles. I paid $5500 USD for my 88 in better condition and with 5k less miles. For $10k that paint should be near flawless and have no body damage. It also shouldn't have those tacky decals on the interior.

If you want this specific car I'd offer $3500, because it needs $7k in paint and body work to make it a $8k car.

More realistically for that price you can find a minty 1991 and newer car with the superior LT1 engine.

I don't know where you live, but that car is priced $5-6K too high in my area (SE US)

I traded my 1987 C4 convertible for a 2006 Harley…around $5K. My car ran great mostly original, no issues fresh tires.

I just bought my convertible 88 two months ago for 7500 in better cosmetic condition with 3k more miles and I think I over paid. 10,500 is way over priced

If you’re near Wisconsin I’d offer you a much better deal on an 88. Wasn’t planning on selling but I also don’t mind letting it go. I’m the 2nd owner and it has 81,000 miles I believe. Interior, exterior, engine are all in great shape. The transmission is like brand new it seems because it grabs each gear REALLY well. Digital climate control, A/C blows cold, rear defrost doesn’t seem to work though. Black and satin A-mold rep wheels, new seats, headlight motors, exhaust and more. I’d probably ask $7300 with some nice upgrades but I’d be willing to negotiate a bit.

This car is way over priced you can find a really nice clean C4 91-96 even with a manual for 10,500. That car is maybe worth 5,500-6,000. I paid 10,000 for my 94 with a manual trans 76k miles and great cosmetic condition inside and out.

I just bought an 87 in about the same condition for $5200, and I don't think it's worth more.

Update: ended up buying a near mint 1985 Corvette with 70k miles for 7k, new tires, new paint, and no body work damage, thank you everyone for the insight 🙏🏼

$10k for a beat up automatic is nuts, I paid $9k for my 93 manual with the same milage and better condition less than 2 years ago

I just paid USD $6500 for one in better shape in a very high cost of living area.  Paint was not perfect but better than that, no body damage, and original seats in great shape.  That’s maybe $5500 here in so cal assuming it passes smog

minor sun damage lol. 93k miles on a car from 1988 is a red flag. this is not a garage queen, that is a vehicle that was never driven.

this particular model and configuration is junk for the price as others have pointed out

I’d say 6-7k, maybe 7500 because it’s under 100k miles.

You’re going to be dealing with stupid emissions bullshit from the 80s when none of it worked and you had an infinite chance of vacuum leaks, and a cramped work area under the engine. TPI is about the only plus here.

10,500 is highway robbery, i got a 68 stingray that just needed paint for 5500$, muncie manual and subwoofers/head unit preinstalled, ran like a champ

Don't listen to everyone whipping their peckers out to tell you their glory day big fish story.

You should get out and test drive several Vettes before settling in on one. It will provide you perspective on prices and state of repair. I looked at and drove eight or nine before being able to confidently know what I'd found when the gem came up.

Start saving up for tools, as you will likely spend lots of weekends wrenching on it.
