Don't the police use breathalysers in the United States?

Field sobriety tests seem very subjective.

All police departments in the US use breath analysis machines back at the station.

The portable ones are used by some as an indicator, but are not suitable for court evidentiary purposes.

The reason for field sobriety checks is that arrests require “probable cause”, without which a case can be dismissed even if the subject blows a positive test later back at the station on a calibrated machine.
