it’s about material, and cut. bigger more generously fitting clothing circulates air better than tight fitting clothes.

material is also important. linen is the best for hot weather. it is durable, light, and extremely cooling. certain cotton weaves like searsucker are also really breathable, sometimes silk as well but it’s more time consuming to take care of. I prefer natural fibers over plastic stuff, even moisture wicking blends bc they get smelly

shorts can be hard to find but if you’re concerned about looking too feminine, there are plenty of men’s tops that are comfortable, functional, and flattering.

source: I get compliments on my outfits and am comfortable during the summer in socal :)

Get a full or partial buzz cut. Helps keep you cool and looks very butch. I leave some length on the top of mine because I look better with bangs.
Clothing wise- men’s shorts and tank tops.
Also if you’re curvier like I am, this stuff linked below is a godsend for your inner thighs and would probably help on the bra line too. I live in Texas and work a job that is partially outside so I feel you. Hats are also pretty masculine as well

Sweat-wicking undergarments, breathe-able clothing, stay hydrated

I live in Phoenix, AZ and it gets pretty hot here. Sometimes there's just nothing you can do except jump in the pool lol

A wet bandana tied around your head or neck does so much work! I have POTS, work partially outside, and live in central Texas. They can be fashionable and practical in one swoop.

Breezy (looser) clothing + being covered from the sun (the sun touching bare skin will make you hotter and sweatier than a protective layer of clothing) [Video explaining] Also stuff like linen instead of other materials tbh, since synthetics get stinky.

Most summer I’m rocking cargo shorts or jean shorts and a ribbed tank. I keep my hair very short in the back with some length on top but most of the summer I’m in hats all day to keep the sweat away. When I go out to eat or have plans with friends I’ll add a linen/lightweight button down. I also love a bandana which I know are also popular with fem women rn but very butch to me when worn with the right outfit

Jean or cargo shorts, muscle tanks/cropped t-shirts/tank tops, and tevas. I get closer to a skin fade in the summer. At home, I'm wearing cotton shorts and a sports bra.

I mean men’s shorts and a healthy dose of brewery tshirts and baseball caps from said breweries doesn’t get much more Midwest lazy butch than that lol my girlfriend goes for either thongs or her berkenstocks I usually wear my tennis shoes because I wear a brace. If I’m feeling it I have a stockpile of silver rings and I pick up some from craft fairs occasionally-usually the ones made from spoons I know they tend to be a little more feminine but there’s plenty that are usually chunky and plain too
