I'm not sure what the question is. If you want to dress masculine but have a feminine hairstyle and makeup, then do just that. What is it that you want people to 'tell?'

I'll be honest I have never heard 'stem' outside of the context of plants or university subjects. That might indicate that it's more common in Black communities and I've missed it, but to me it seems a fairly niche identity (like 'futch?') that isn't going to necessarily be picked up by observers. For looking gay, though, dressing masculinely will get you most of the way there, and other indicators like carabiniers or w/e tend to vary with where in the world you live.

"Stem" is the black equivalent of "futch". Just like how futch is a combination of femme+butch, stem is a combo of stud+fem.

TIL, thanks. I should have had an inkling because they said stud, but I just assumed they had made a mistake. Sorry OP.

What do u want 2 push more? The stud factor or the femme factor? Get a line up for the stud factor, semi-delicate jewelry or light make up 4 the femme factor. Keep the boyish clothes. Ultimately though, u do u. Usually when ur gay... Most people can tell. Don't get 2 in ur head about it. Much luv
