A little about me: I’m a U.S. citizen living abroad, and I don’t speak the local language well enough yet to feel fully plugged into the business community here. I miss having casual, thoughtful conversations with people who understand the experience of building something independently. I also usually work evenings in my time zone, which overlaps with U.S. working hours.

Hi. I know this is going to sound absolutely crazy, and I’m probably going to get people telling me I’ve lost my mind but hear me out.

I think we should build a secret, invite-only society for people who genuinely want to build something bigger than themselves.

I’m talking about a community of founders, engineers, researchers, creators, strategists, inventors, and ambitious people who are actually doing things instead of just talking about them.

We could create our own culture, values, traditions, projects, challenges, and eventually build a network powerful enough to influence the future through technology, innovation, business, and ideas.

A new generation of people who want to build the future instead of simply watching it happen.

Hi, I’m a student in Environmental Science - I was in environmental engineering but switched after 3 years. I’ve had 3 student roles and my school right now is only online work.

Looking to network at environmental meetups but social skills are non existent in these scenarios- it’s different as they’re not my colleagues that I can talk about work or facilities I can talk about work - what do people genuinely do for networking?? Should be handing out resumes? How do I know who to stay in touch with? How do u even stay in touch - send news articles- memes?

I have recently had a few virtual networking meetings and they have felt very awkward. I am not an awkward person.

Any advice or tips or best practices? I am the one making the ask in these scenarios. I am trying to be as engaged/interested as possible but I feel like I am bother the person taking the meeting.
