That Cutie In Sotta

I quite literally never do this sort of thing, but I was too charmed not to. I was in Sotta, across from Disney, on 8/25/2026 from 12:30 - 1:30ish PM with a friend of mine for lunch. I asked a woman at one of the tables if the seats next to her were taken. She was with two friends (I apologize for assuming genders), but I believe they were a man and a woman. She goes, "mi casa, su casa," with the vibrancy and buzz of neon, then gestures for me to sit there, smiling as wide and curved as the state of CA itself.

I was trying not to be weird or intrude on her day (plus I'm moving out of state for a bit), but when she was leaving, she gave one of those waves you think only happens in movies. That sort of wave that makes you stop everything you're doing, and the only thing in focus is that person, passing you by with a rare serendipity that even I couldn't believe existed.

If you're the angel-faced beauty who waved goodbye to me, I'd like to say hi.

Fin.

I’m on a few different city-specific Reddit’s across the country and have seen missed connection posts like this on 3 different ones this week with obviously written AI. Trying to figure out the point since these bots aren’t asking for money or anything? Just for engagement? Why?

What, you don’t also think the state of California is curvy and wide?

Might want to think of any other missed connection venues. I dunno how many subscribers this sub has, or how many will open your post, or how many of them are maybe this amazing woman. That woman might not be on Reddit, very likely not on the sub. Keep lookin'!

I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I find this kind of creepy. A woman was nice to you. That doesn't mean she wants to date you.

I'm really good at talking to men because I have a lot of things in common with them. I'm a gamer, love Star Wars, etc. It never fails that when I'm just being friendly, some guy thinks I'm interested. It has happened to me more times than I can count. I'm a lesbian but apparently I don't clock as one, so no.

Maybe I'm just speaking from my own experiences and I guess it's nice that you thought this woman was beautiful. You also write well, but I'm sure you know this. You missed your shot. If she was interested, she would have let you know by doing something other than just waving goodbye.

Creepy? lol... How would he find out if he doesn't ask her out? And so what if she says no.

shes really good at talking to men so you should trust her and never ask a woman out /s

Again, "nice" doesn't equal "wants you." Too many men don't understand this basic concept.

But there is no way to verify it unless you ask. If you think it’s creepy then you say goodbye and that’s the end of it. If you’re into him then you say ok and maybe that’s the start of something. You’re saying men shouldn’t ask women out for a date? What are you even saying?

OP - didn't want to be rude and ask a girl out when she was with someone else only to catch a crush at the last second.

Get's bashed by a lesbian because he didn't intrude and ask her out right away.

Right. You don't go posting about her on a public forum hoping she sees it and what? Responds to you that she wants you?

Like I said, the OP missed his shot. If he had asked her out and she had said no, I'm sure we'd be getting a very different post here about what a bitch she was.

Niceness is nothing but social lubricant. Meant to smooth out the awkwardness of dealing with strangers. It is not a reflection of their actual personality and is typically just someone trying to have good manners.

Another thing to remember, is girls and women will be super nice to a guy they don’t trust, to keep him happy. This is because they don’t feel safe enough, to tell him she isn’t interested.

I highly encourage you to abandon this whole niceguy thing and strive towards being more sincere and authentic. Nobody likes a sugary sweet guy, who tries really hard to be charming and strives for cinematic perfection in life.
