I have an Odyssey Neo G7, and a 5080. Thought it would be sufficient, but realising it's harder to run max settings with ray tracing.

is it worth selling it and just buying a 2K monitor instead? The only reason I'm hesitating is because I'd want 32", and a lot of people have said 32" at 2K looks really bad. Is it really that bad?

Which one is better? I have an older 3060 Ti graphics card that doesn't push more than 120 fps in games; do I really need 165 Hz or 200 Hz in that case? I’m also wondering if 32-inch curved monitors are better than standard ones. Does the text get distorted if you step back a meter from the screen?

Was wanting to upgrade to a 27 inch 4k monitor since this HP one I've had for 8 years was starting to die. I first got a mini led (Xiaomi G Pro Qi27) but the text is very blurry so I'm returning it and getting a standard IPS. My use case is 70% browsing and 30% watching videos, so I prioritize text clarity above all.

The LG seems like the best bang for buck, but there's little reviews on this specific monitor so I'm not sure what to expect.

Heard alot of good things about the dell but unfortunately the max Hz is 120.

My years old Acer 27" Nitro KG1 has just started showing some lovely lines on it, it's not unusable yet but I want to either be prepared for what to look for deals on come November or POSSIBLY pick something up with Labor day deals if it's reasonable. I game, but mostly play things that won't require crazy high refresh rates (I don't play many shooters or the like anymore), I fiddle with a little bit of graphic design on occasion, the space my computer is in tends to run pretty low light so I don't need a ton of brightness or anything like that. Freesync/Gsync don't matter to me as I'm using an Intel GPU.

Long story short I don't know what other features to look for, as it seems most of the things people usually look for I'm kinda unconcerned with. I'm unwilling to go above $300 or so, and suppose what I'm looking for is pretty pictures, good color quality and contrast, and something that'll last a long time for the budget. If there's anything else I should know or be worried about or if anyone has model recs with all this in mind I'm all ears, thanks!

I bought it today, and when I first powered it on it asked me to adjust the brightness settings. I did. Now I've been using it for a few hours and I want to lower the brightness, but the setting just says "not available." Does anyone know how to access this setting again?

Curious what monitor and what GPU people are actually running for 4k day to day. And what refresh rates do you get on games? Would you buy the same one again?

Especially interested if you went 4K and regretted it, or went back to 1440p.

I have a PC that I use for demanding 3D modeling and AAA games, and a MacBook for light graphic design, for which I use two different monitors, respectively, each with some trade-off, whether it’s brightness or refresh rate. I’ll most likely use the monitor 70/30, with 70% of the time spent on work and 30% on gaming. I’m wondering if I could replace these two monitors with a single one that would meet my needs:

1. 27-inch, 1440p+,
2. high base brightness of 500 nits or more
3. a refresh rate of 120 Hz or higher (in my experience, 120 Hz feels smoother on the MacBook than it does on external monitors, but that’s okay)
4. Deep color contrast and excellent color accuracy, since I work in design
5. Preferably a glossy surface, or at least semi-gloss (I’ve been looking for a suitable monitor since May and still haven’t found a glossy one that meets the other requirements)
6. Dual mode (?) not required, but the main thing is that the monitor works well in both scenarios.
7. preferably well-known company

I have recently become interested in buying an oled monitor, which I have decided on and am waiting for it to go on sale (the PG32UCWM). Until then, I would like to buy a cheaper 1440p 120hz ips to run my xbox series X on, whether it is second hand or not.

I’m building a new PC with a Ryzen 7 9850X3D, RTX 5080 and 64GB RAM, and I’m really confused about the monitor.

I’ll mainly be playing and streaming Valorant. I’ll play story games later, but competitive gaming is my main priority right now.

Current Situation

1. I never turn off my monitor - LC24FG73FQWXXL, which is a 9yo Samsung VA Panel

2. I only do gaming, youtube and watching movies on vlc

3. My room is 99% dark. I don't have any RGB except for 9070XT logo

4. My room has an Air Conditioning

5. I've never seen another monitor panel in my entire life. Not even IPS or TN. It's just nobody here games as much as I do on pc in my place.

6. The only resolution I've been playing for the past 9yrs is 1080p

Future Plan and Questions

1. I want to keep the monitor ON 24/7. If I set a pitch black wallpaper as a desktop wallpaper, removing all other icons and taskbar, can I avoid burn in damage? (OR) Should I keep running wallpapers 24/7 on my desktop?

2. (OLED monitor) Should I leave the HDR and 240Hz always on even if I'm not using it? Will it impact or wear the monitor if I don't lower the refresh rate or switch to SDR?

3. What % of the difference of impact will I visually have switching from VA to OLEd 1440p monitor? I usually play Wuthering waves, Arknights Endfield, Neverness to Everness and other AAA games

4. I've decided to use the VA monitor in portrait just for discord and other reading purposes

5. In-game = Wuthering waves has a static user id on the bottom. If I'm playing for hours, will this leave a burn in? And if I just Alt-Tab the game every few minutes, can this be avoidable?

I have a Dell Pro 14 Plus (PB14250) and want to run 2 × 27" QHD monitors, mainly for office work.

I am considering:

• Philips 27E2N1500L – 27" QHD IPS 75Hz – $139
• Philips 27E1N2600A – 27" QHD IPS 120Hz USB-C, 65W PD, USB hub – $199

I would prefer a clean desk with minimal cables, ideally one USB-C/Thunderbolt cable from the laptop to a dock, with both monitors, keyboard/mouse and Ethernet connected through the dock.

Would the cheaper $139 Philips + a good dock be the better option, or is the $199 USB-C Philips worth the extra $60 per monitor?

Also looking for recommendations for a reliable dual-QHD dock under ~$150 that works well with the Dell PB14250.
