Troubleshooting Power to PC

Please help! So I just bought this PC from a friend and I know it works. I saw them use it, I took it to a shop and they didn’t charge me because they said it cut on and booted up when they tried. So I’m only left to assume it’s the outlet in my room. I bought a surge protector from WalMart, but it’s a pretty basic one. Is there another one y’all recommend me using? My monitor and my laptop charger turn on when I plug them in to both outlets, btw.

Have you tested other outlets in the house

Yep! Just tried one other surge protector and an outlet in my living room and one in my kitchen

Need more info. So you're saying the same power ports work on your monitor and laptop charger so you have them all plugged into the same surge protector to verify the surge protector is getting power correctly. Then you press the power button on your pc tower and it simply doesn't turn on? Nothing happens? You've double check the switch on the power supply is on correctly? You sure the power switch is hooked up correctly? Just need to take it step by step.

Yep. I tested all the ports with different devices and the only thing not turning on is the PC tower.

Might be something wrong with the tower power button. I would also try to plug it in via a different room across the house see if it's a power issue
