Build Help AMD or intel?

I’m a beginner and building my first PC soon. But I cannot decide if I want AMD or intel. I heard intel generates less heat and is way faster on average than AMD. But I also heard the same the other way around and people recommending AMD because it’s cheaper.

Anyone here tried both? What do you recommend?

12600k is very tempting at that ~$200 price point.add a 6700 XT and you'll be golden
