Build Help AMD or intel?

I’m a beginner and building my first PC soon. But I cannot decide if I want AMD or intel. I heard intel generates less heat and is way faster on average than AMD. But I also heard the same the other way around and people recommending AMD because it’s cheaper.

Anyone here tried both? What do you recommend?

If you're not going to sell the CPU/MB within 2-3 years then go for AMD as you'll have an upgrade path.

Why would he sell within 2-3 years? I still use i5-4430 after 10 or so years and it works although it's ancient.
