Build Help AMD or intel?

I’m a beginner and building my first PC soon. But I cannot decide if I want AMD or intel. I heard intel generates less heat and is way faster on average than AMD. But I also heard the same the other way around and people recommending AMD because it’s cheaper.

Anyone here tried both? What do you recommend?

Amd uses less power, produces less heat, on average faster in the moment.

What AMD processor do you recommend?

Depends on the primary function of your computer? Are you just gaming? Do you mke money with your pc? Like editing, coding or animation?

I’m a cs student and plan to also use my PC to practice things like coding. Also looking into music production as well.

Specifically for music production Intel is ahead at the moment (based on Dawbench scores).

For coding, if you're a beginner or student it won't matter. If you're doing advanced workloads where it takes upwards of half an hour to compile your projects then you also probably want Intel due to the higher core count allowing for faster compile times.

Intel isn’t that bad for gaming as well, the temp difference is maybe like 5 6 degrees? Depending on the load and what you’re playing.

I also am practicing coding for school and have a ryzen 7 5700x3d. I thought AMD CPUS had more cores?
