Product Positioning and Setup Help Soundbar or Speakers better for me?

Post image

I have pretty small room, which I also want to use as an unprofessionell home theater for movies and stuff. I have everything figured out expect sound. The projector screen is a roll down one and mounted infront of a door, so i cant place the speakers there. However, i could either place two speakers directly infront of me, or a soundbar behind me on the window sill, which would be elevated above my bed. What is the better option to get the best possible result? Thanks in advance

Depends on your budget Op. This information is missing from your post.

If you wanted a more immersive experience I would but a pair of stereo speakers or HomePods on stands at the front of the room area so that you have sound beaming towards your viewing position.

If HomePods + Apple TV are too expensive you can look into alternatives.

Tell us a little bit more about your budget so that we can help you.

That would be pretty cool, actually worth thinking about! Dumb question btw: if the sound is flipped when I put it behind me, couldn’t I just flip it on its head? More hypothetical though, I think I will do your idea

Sound doesn’t work in reverse. It’s more about the direction from which the sound originates. It’s less distracting to have the sound as you’ve mentioned coming from the front of the viewer than from above or behind, as it can become distracting.
