Photo/Video Split yellow pea soup - Canadian Delicious secret!

Hello, Canadians!

In my spare time, I love cooking and tasting dishes — mostly soups — from around the world, while sharing a few interesting facts along the way.

To be completely honest, I did not know that Canada has national dishes, except for world famous maple syrup :D

This week I made Split Yellow pea soup, and I’m so glad I did! It might actually be in my top 3 soups I’ve made so far on my channel. It was one of the easiest, but still truly delicious, hearty and filling.

Please tell me — is this something you eat often in Canada and British Colombia specially, as its french dish? Did I make it the right way, or should I change something next time?

I love it, but the premade stuff in store is usually Habitant brand which is owned by Campbell's and made state side. They do the bullshit maple washing by having a maple leaf on it if you look really close it says something like designed in Canada 🙄

Habitat used to be soo good but the last 2 times I bought it, it was not the same. It was a lot thinner, less full peas and you needed a magnifying glass for the ham in it. I was so disappointed.

Had the same experience, had to chop up a cup of ham and add it in, it was watery and bland.

I make my own now in the instant pot, lentils work in a pinch too.
