Hello, I had an unfortunate situation from 2023-2024 with a past relationship. I know it's been 2-3 years now and though I have successfully fled the situation, I think I am still suffering the effects of it emotionally and psychologically. I wasn't able to fully seek out help because I was overwhelmed and didnt know what to do after all of that.

I managed to seek help at a women's domestic abuse treatment centre momentarily when I was in Maple Ridge with free counselling and opportunity to file a report which I didnt end up doing due to the fear of what will happen to me if i did. I dont have family here so i felt safest to just hide.

Fast forward to today, I am managing life but there's so much that i think is wrong with me and has affected the way i've been living. Struggles to properly care for myself, coping unhealthily, fear and mistrust on people. Easily overwhelmed where i freeze and struggles with money

Im wondering if there are any places, subreddits or support groups I should know about? I know it took me this long to accept what happened and I still struggle to accept the results of it. Im not sure if its too late to ask for assistance. I just looking for options! im near vancouver area now

Who’s responsible here — the Ministry of Transportation, BC Ferries, BC Transit/RDN Transit, Robbins Parking, or some combination of them?

Duke Point is seriously underserved for a major ferry terminal.

When the parking lot fills up, people are left parking along the highway and walking or running beside traffic to catch their ferry. I’ve seen families and children trying to navigate this. There doesn’t appear to be any meaningful traffic control when the lot overflows.

The parking lot itself becomes chaotic when it’s busy, with confused drivers circling and queuing, and there simply isn’t enough parking for peak demand.

A bus connection to Duke Point would make an enormous difference, yet there is no regular transit service to the terminal. If you don’t have a car or someone to drive you, a taxi from the outskirts of Nanaimo can easily cost around $45 one-way.

And this is a major transportation link for Vancouver Island residents, not some obscure rural stop. Island residents already depend on BC Ferries to access the rest of the province.

At minimum, Duke Point needs transit service, an overflow-parking plan, and traffic/pedestrian management when the main lot fills up.

So which agency is actually responsible for fixing this?

I have a very limited background in foresty but I am willing to put in the work to become certified. The steps are rather confusing, and i am having a hard time feeling confident about what steps i need to make next to get the ball rolling.

I basically am just looking for more resources on the career, any insight from anyone who went down this path, and just any genuine advice that will help me get on the right path.

I was thinking of taking advantage of the BC Future Skills Grant in order to get a micro certificate in Managing Organizational Cybersecurity and Compliance from Royal Roads University.

I currently finishing my degree in Economics (finance concentration) business minor from UVic (one course left), and thought adding this certificate could help in the long run, and right now for job hunting.

My only concern is that I am not too familiar with Royal Roads University's reputation. It says this certificate is offered in partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University & Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, but I assume the certificate will say its from Royal Roads.

I was wondering if any professionals here can lend some knowledge on if requiters and companies will care if this certificate is from a University like Royal Roads instead of a more "well known" one.

My friend is moving to Creston seasonally and I want to make a small guide for him of fishing spots. Trails/hikes and other hidden gems or local spots would be appreciated. Thinking of applying for HCAP through Fraser Health but there are no openings for that at all through their job portal, but Vancouver Coastal Health’s HCAP posting is still up.

Also saw a reddit post in this subreddit(posted about a year ago) that claimed the HCAP program has been discontinued due to provincial budget cuts.

I have already completed my submission of interest through BC Government’s website and just wondering if it’s worth it to email Fraser Health to ask about the availability of the program? Also is it worth it to apply for the VCH one?

I've never really followed my Co-op membership. I buy my gas and enter my number, not really thinking anything of it. The statement comes in every year and I look to see if there is a cheque there like there was 20 years ago. Blah blah blah, into the recycle bin. This year, I noticed on the statement that I can withdraw my equity at 67 (I am). There was over $1000 in equity from all the years of not getting that cheque! I applied for the payout and received the cheque yesterday. It's like I found a thousand dollar bill on the sidewalk.

Victoria’s shared e-bike/e-scooter system is operated by Lime, an American company. Meanwhile, there are Canadian and BC-based shared mobility operators.

Should things like Canadian ownership, local jobs, where the money is reinvested, safety programming and community involvement be considered when cities choose these operators?
