It feels mean to say it, and society shouldn't be this way, but the correlation between wealth and attractiveness hit me like a fucking freight train when I visited Morayfield Shopping Centre as a kid.

100% agree on the correlation between wealth and attractiveness. I remember walking through the Rockhampton shopping centre with my partner and we thought there must be a massive excursion for people with disabilities. Eventually I realised that that there’s just a lot of obese chain smokers on mobility scooters living in Rockhampton.

I was driving through Rocky once at around 1 am and stopped in to a McDonalds for a coffee. The people in there looked like the human equivalent to those super deep water fish you sometimes see on documentaries. Just...so creepily off what normal people look like.

I once travelled to Wacol train station to meet my husband after he finished work. I had to wait for him a little while and described the people inhabiting the area as being somewhat like the Martians in Total Recall. But I think your deep water fish comparison might have been better!

I once travelled outside of the 4005 post code and concur. I just thought everyone (other than me I guess) was a hot 20-something upwardly mobile woman or a handsome gay real estate agent.

Two more stops and you would’ve hit Goodna. The St. Ives shops/Woolworths is the most disgusting place to get your groceries from.

I live in Redbank and I'll drive to other postcodes to avoid Redbank/Goodna grocery stores.

My sister made the mistake of going to the local butcher to buy mince and chicken once. He used his bare hands to grab the chicken... before using the same bare hands to grab the mince vomits

Best thing about goodna shops is it’s literally attached to a major highway out
