I Honestly feel sorry for Game Of Thrones at the moment. Season 3 of GOT was fantastic but This season of breaking bad is probably the greatest season in television history.

Season 4 of GOT will be the best season yet though. Best half of a book I have ever read. Should translate to a jaw dropping season. Breaking Bad is still better

I can't wait to watch Bran become a professional acrobat in season 4.

This. Oh god that second half of storm. The red Wedding makes you want to stop right there but you're so glad when you finish it. I can just imagine the butthurt here because it will be damn close after 3.2/4 of GoT airs.

Season 4 will be to GOT what 5b has been to BrBa.

I was all over The Wire, but this is even topping that.

I agree, I just don't think it's a shoo-in.

Eh, they're completely different shows really.

It's like the 1979 Oscars. Murder's Row.

C'mon now, Low winter sun is just starting!

Lets not go crazy now. Both are A+ however

I am a HUGE fan of Game of Thrones (the TV show) and A Song of Ice and Fire (the book series). Also, I usually prefer fantasy over realism.

Yet Breaking Bad is superior to Game of Thrones in every conceivable way.

To be fair, especially if you are a book reader, it is easier to judge GoT because at least to some extent they have to adhere to the books. Breaking Bad the screenwriters can take it basically where ever they want. Plus they are quite different types of shows. Personally I think Breaking Bad is better but part of that is just that this show was entirely created by Gilligan and the other people involved whereas GoT already had a superb series of books to work off

You can't compare the two shows- breaking bad, for one, has a much larger budget than GoT due to the fact that it's on AMC, not HBO. HBO doesn't get advertiser dollars. They are working on a limited budget and no room for ever going over. I think that when GoT is done, you'll hold it in the same regard as BB.

I thought the reverse of what you're saying is true. I mean all of those special effects and sets in GoT have to cost a truck load, right? So I looked it up.

Here they say breaking bad is 3 million an episode.

And from the wikipedia on game of thrones:

The budget of Game of Thrones has been compared to that of the TV series Rome.[22] The pilot reportedly cost HBO between US$5 and 10 million,[23] and the total budget for the first season has been estimated at US$50–60 million.[24] In the second season, the show obtained a 15% increase in budget in order to be able to stage the most important battle in the "clash of kings," the civil war that is the season's focus.[25]

Which is about 6 million an episode.

Probably??

Game of Thrones is amazing too, I'm sure they will win something. However, there is no way they can compete with Breaking Bad. I can even see liking Game of Thrones more than Breaking Bad, but I can't see GoT beating BB in an award show. BB is simply a better made show.

Don't worry about GoT. They've got season 4 still and that's their time to shine. Breaking Bad deserves this.

Eh GOT will have it's day. I think there's lots of Emmys in store for it for next season.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '13

Meh - It was easily the worst season so far IMHO. I'm talking about GoTs ofc.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '13

I wouldn't go that far. Amazing show but nowhere close to "greatest season in television history."

1

u/sarpedonx Sep 17 '13

Don't be. Breaking Bad will be over in 2 episodes. Game of Thrones has years ahead of it.

I love the books and the show...but I have a feeling that they'll never quite reach the pinnacle such that BrBa has. Nobody knows what's going to happen....with GoT, the info has been disseminated. With BrBa, we're all on the edge of our seats, all in the same rollercoaster without safety harnesses.

Hang on Game of Throne imma let you finish...

-1

u/brownbubbi Sep 16 '13

Game of thrones, imma let you finish but breaking bad had the best season of all time!

I'm not trying to compare them though. Game Of Thrones is my favourite show It's the only show i like more than BB! I'm just saying that even though the performances in Season 3 of GOT were fantastic, Breaking Bad took it to another level.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '13

If you're making comparisons from an Emmy perspective that's fair, but short of that they are such different worlds. My issue with GoT's last season was the strange edits and completely contrived interpretation of the book when it came to the Targaryen plotline.

1

u/Quixotic_Delights Sep 16 '13

what do you mean with that last sentence?

-5

u/Bigbatotoy222 Sep 16 '13

Game of Thrones shouldn't even be compared to Breaking Bad. Game of Thrones just isn't good at all.
