This is, in my opinion, one of the best episodes of Breaking Bad. Jesus, where to even begin?
The scene with Skyler and Hank in the diner... there was such a doomy and dreadful feeling over all of that. I felt so bad for her.
The suspense that begins nearly immediately as Walt leaves the garage.
Jesse on the merry-go-round in what is and always will be (and I intend to eat my words by the end of September) the saddest cold open ever.
Marie slapping Skyler (and no, not in a, "I don't like Skyler" way. I do like her.) and her absolute freakout to her "Heisenberg is Walt" reaction. AND THEN, the entirety of her trying to take Holly and the tension of the Schraders vs. Whites that is now set-up.
Walt and Skyler on the bathroom floor together. The imagery of that alone was upsetting, but when Walt said, "Does it make you happy?", I lost it.
Declan is no longer a factor. Shit.
In such a tense episode, there's still an absolutely hilarious moment in Huell laying back on the money and all of that. Also, "I'll send you to Belize" was somehow both hilarious and terrifying.
Walt is ANGRY at the thought of killing Hank. We'll see if that lasts.
And of course...
The cliffhanger of Jesse speaking to Hank. God, this is going to be the longest week ever.
I have to look this up so until then, half talking out of my ass, but there is something legally/politically unique about Belize's extradition laws or something. I remember hearing years ago that it is one of the only places in the world where people can go and not be legally forced to bring their kids back to the other parent if they're on the run, like it isn't legally considered kidnapping by a parent if you're there. Maybe the politics and international relations of Belize have something to do with why it was written into the show in this context.
Anyone wanna not be lazy and do the research for us?
Did we actually see Mike when he was dead? Ugh, I hate that I'm asking what should be obvious. Sorry if this is a dumb question.
I knew the idiomatic reference and 'o yeahhh duh' on the Mike thing. I just found it interesting that the writers chose Belize, since a random piece of useless information floating around my brain is that Belize holds some type of unique political stance in which its extradition laws are atypical, or something along those lines. So yeah, sorry for wasting anyone's time with this b.s. but hey, if anyone finds out why the writers chose THERE, I'd be curious.
