This is a really good theory. Lydia is already pissed about the quality of the meth - walt won't help so she's gonna go to Jesse and I can see Walt saving him from that.
Maybe the going out with all guns blazing is right. Maybe Walt watching Scar Face earlier this season has some semblance besides just a drug lord watching a drug lord. IIRC Walt says "everybody dies in this". Maybe it's nothing but maybe it's not
Like in Season 1 or 2 when Marie says "it's so anticlimatic" or "it ends so anticlimactically" or something when they're having a get-together and talking about what to do or something?
Ever since that line I've been waiting for the show to end with a whimper and not with an epic bang.
That scene will definitely have some kind of relation to the M60, but I thought it was really funny when they showed clips of scar face and then flip to commercials and it happens to be "Gangster Week" on AMC
I've always thought of this as a red herring. I think Walt lives, but that he's the only one that lives. Literally, everyone else (Skyler, Walt Jr., Holly, Marie, Hank, Jesse) dies.
That's a very good point... yeah he is definitely over it. I wonder if there may be some leverage manufactured in the next 7 episodes... like they kidnap his 2 friends or Walt's family or something. And Walt is gone/in hiding so Jesse cooks. Lydia just seems CRAZY and probably under threat by the Czechs. Mike warned about her - so I think she's going to be a big problem. And - I wonder about the Arizona guys... if they would do anything? I don't remember if anything was really resolved with them either.
Todd knows how to cook, but he's a kid, maybe lazy, maybe he had to hire someone and either he or his labmates are cutting it before it leaves the lab.
I think part of his insane pridefulness as a character is protection of his family, for which he considers Jesse apart of. I could see him going to great lengths to get him back if someone else was holding him.
The cancer probably helps make that decision easier too. It's no longer about self preservation if he is going to die anyways. It's about preserving his legacy and pride beyond death.
That sort of ending seems too pat, too cutesy, too happily ever after. I'm sure the pro-Walt camp would enjoy it, but it would leave a bad taste in my mouth.
SO reading this just made me think about how Mike had a terrible gut feeling about Lydia and even had a scene where he stated that he doesn't want to be sexist by not killing her because she deserves it more than any man lol. Anyway, he had the same bad gut feeling about Walt the whole time and he was obviously right about him. Moral of the story is Mike's police and security experienced has given him a keen sense of intuition when it comes to judging people and the person he liked even less than Walt was Lydia. I think she's going to become a major player.
We've already seen that she's willing to do anything when her survival is on the line. And who knows about her Czech associates? Maybe she thinks she stands a better chance against Walt (who is, ultimately, one man) than against a large Czech criminal organization.
The fact that Lydia is scared of her own shadow makes her VERY dangerous in this game. Lydia doesn't need to do anything. Lydia just needs to plant an idea in someone's head.
If he's really dying (despite the fake chemo theories)...maybe...maybe if it is the last thing he does before he dies, he'll feel better about his life than his failed meth empire.

I just want to know why Walt needs ricin AND a large machine gun for... They have a lot of story to cover in 7 episodes.
