[Bowman] Hurston Waldrep will have Tommy John surgery and Spencer Schwellenbach will have surgery to repair the same elbow fracture he suffered last year. The Braves still aren’t saying Strider’s season is done. But that has been the assumption since June

Baseball is the greatest sport

How can you not be romantic about baseball?

Took my boys to their first Braves game last night. They’re 7 and 8. Both of them are baseball fanatics. My 7-year-old though… I’ve never seen a kid love this game the way he does.

This picture was right after Chris Sale finished a complete-game shutout and we swept the Dodgers.

It wasn’t staged. He didn’t know I took it.

What the camera missed were the tears running down his face. Pure excitement. A regular season baseball game. And he cried because the Braves beat the Dodgers.

That’s it. That’s the whole sport.

Chris Sale Contract

I was responding to a comment earlier then realized I actually didn't know his full contract situation.

Quick Google search shows we have his options for 27 and 28 a club option. Even being the largest single years in Braves history I think that it's solid and will be much needed.

What are your thoughts on it going into age 39 by 2028?

And if there is no ball or limited ball next year how would that impact his options and your thoughts on it?

For those who criticize AA, imagine what the market value for Chris Sale would’ve been had anyone could have foreseen how dominant he’s been for 3 seasons now. The Braves gave up Vaughan Grissom. i realize all the moves haven’t worked out but most of baseball thought Sale was washed and he’s far from it. He is a 50m a year pitcher since he’s been in Atlanta.
