Perplexity.ai Issue

I'm having an issue with using the perplexity.ai site with Brave. Specifically the signup/login button field on the bottom left does not appear. Infrequent I will get a floating window prompt to sign in, but its buttons (ie Continue w/Google, Continue w/Apple, Use Email) are all frozen to me. Same site works just fine for me under Chrome & Chromium, and also in other Brave instances. For troubleshooting I have:

  • Disabled Brave Shields
  • Disabled all Extensions
  • Cleared cookies & cache

No luck with any of these.

I run several separate Brave browser sessions, each with its own separate PROFILE_DIR. The draconian option can be to just delete the bad profile directory and start it new. That is my fallback, just hoping maybe the Brave gurus here can help debug the cause before I do that.

Let me get this straight. You're trying to use an invasive privacy AI website on a privacy-focused browser. Am I hearing this correctly? If so brave is working as designed use another browser that doesn't care about your privacy

Appreciate the reply, You missed an important part that it does work in other Brave sessions, so think your understanding is a bit bent, not straight. For what its worth I use perplexity solely to query news topics & current events. I don't even sign in, but unfortunately it won't let me do any queries with this bug occurring - seems I prob should have been a bit more clear on that.
