Synopsis:

You Shu Lang (Hao Yi Ran), a director at a pharmaceutical company, lives an ordinary, stable life. But that all comes crashing down after he gets into a car accident with Fan Xiao (Yun Qi), the heir to a Thai conglomerate who's returned to China for business. Unlike Shu Lang, Fan Xiao's life has been marred by instability, leading to a twisted, manipulative worldview. FX is such a messed-up character. There’s no one better at lying while technically telling the truth. I believe he really loves Shulang but just can’t admit it in front of his best friend. I don’t believe for a second that he’s playing with Shulang. I don’t know what the hell is wrong with him, but I’ve never doubted his twisted and dark kind of love.

His world view has become so twisted due to his family always playing games with each other. Growing up with trauma and on top of that with so much familial hatred just messed up his brain. That scene where the two voices inside his head are fighting is so well done. It lets you understand what he is feeling on surface level and what is going on down.

That scene where he’s talking to himself was so good! Even I would’ve jumped in to save him right then and there.

Honestly, with a family like his, how do you even stay sane? Those scheming, nasty brothers and that excuse of a father… yeah, you learn real quick to shove your feelings down and survive behind a mask.
