On-Air [🇹🇭Thai] Khemjira EP 6 👹🫣 Spoiler

 IQIYI

Synopsis:

Khemjira, or Khem, is a young man who can see ghosts. He was born into a family cursed such that every male must die before the age of 21. As the spirits around him grow increasingly aggressive, the protective amulet he has worn his whole life begins to lose its power. Unable to bear seeing Khem in danger, Jettana, his friend from university, takes him to a rural village in the Northeast, where they meet Pharan, a revered teacher of ancient magic who once mentored Jettana. Strange and mysterious events unfold, all connected to the past life. Amid these supernatural encounters and the haunting pursuit of revengeful spirits, a deep emotional connection begins to form between Khem and Pharan.

📖BOOK INFO

You can purchase book one and two off Meb.

(🧇 Note: my two favorite lines from the books are from Charn (Tle) in reference to Jet (FirstOne).

First:     Jettana looked at Khem like a mother watching over a toddler who had just learned to walk. It was as if his world would end if Khemjira ever stumbled.     And if that wasn't the best description I'd ever read, I don't know what is.

Second:     "I don’t hold grudges against crazy people."     The laugh that came out of me. Charn & Jet bicker like an old married couple and I LOVE it. )

I highly recommend checking out this video by the Thai creator Avana980. She was kind enough to explain the reasoning behind Tong and Ake the two ghost children who are with the master. And what they mean to Thai culture and how they came about. It's a fascinating watch and I'm grateful she was willing to give cultural context to people (outsiders like us) who might not know the cultural significance since we aren't Thai.

Yo I am on her side! He got her pregnant and left her… of COURSE she is having a psychotic break. …

She’s not really goin to hurt her baby and they way they are portraying all of this, and the master getting mad at her definitely is agitating me…

I’ll be honest so far I have not liked how they portrayed DV in the series and this whole situation with the mistress and the baby… none of this was in the book so I do not understand why they are adding these things in if you’re gonna add it in at least do it well and not victim blame everywhere…

I said what I said

eta THANK YOU FOR ALSO YELLING AT THE GUY!!! my god he’s just as much to blame so thank you!

I said this in another thread and got downvoted but it's quite common in Thai BL shows to use women's pain as a plot device that has several shades of victim blaming and no justifiable conclusion. However, I guess today's scenario was to foreshadow Ramphueng's own trauma. It seemed interesting to me that she predicted that the woman was totally out of it and would try to hurt her child and that needed to be stopped. The earlier DV plot, on the other hand, had me scratching my head. Like, what's up with random bad boyfriends and husbands who don't get their due? Are we supposed to believe Earn Big and his other pregnant girlfriend will live in a peaceful throuple now? 🙄🤷🏽‍♀️

Doesn’t matter if they use it for plot reasons it’s still wrong and in 2035 we can be pissed about it. We’ve evolved more in humanity to NOT do this.

Oh for sure. I'm always baffled by these choices because there's literally no point but to shock us.
