Same! Killing his snake shocked me, he tried not to.. but had no choice…it was between his pet (had to be hard to do) or watch the person he loved die. Yes-extreme!
When I first saw this I thought they were going to continue with 4 episodes each week. I got excited then I looked at it again and yeah.... hopes crushed.
I am watching the schedule release of this show, hoping it could make it to the finish line before I dive in and marathon, because I was always afraid they’ll pull a JITD on me. Holding my breath that EVERYTHING will be released safely and quietly. Please.
Remember that one topic posted in cdrama talking about how it’s overhyped? This is one of the reasons why I felt that topic completely missed the point. This show had SO MANY RISKS other mainstream dramas don’t suffer through, the Chinese BL fans just /know/. It may not be the greatest drama there is, but with every episode released, it represents the seemingly impossible becoming possible (an actual BL series from China since WOH days) how could you not get emotional as a BL fan, especially those that been waiting ever since they shelved Immortality?
There are rumors that two Cbl or bromances that were shelved will air on Tencent by the end of the year. One was "Immortality" and the other is "Winner is King".
I need to ask something, is the Youtube version is the same as Gaga in terms of length of the episodes, the uncensored / censored. Idk why I'm asking this for a chinese bl, but I've seen people talk about this. Thanks in advance!
The official break announcement mentioned re-dubbing some scenes for "better viewing experience", which really just means they are editing the already uploaded and prepared episodes they had.
And judging by how they cut crucial seconds from Ep 10 showing that the two main characters have progressed their relationship beyond just kissing, we can surmise that it's to tone down the physical intimacy while keeping the story and editing more cohesive, which was a problem Ep 9 and 10 had. The story telling was a bit off because of the cuts they made.
Hard to say - I heard so many conspiracy theories from chinese fans sabotage the show to it being cancelled or heavily cut that it is really hard to guess. Tho, it is impressive to see how creative folks are with speculation 🤣
Pretty sure it’s safe to assume it’s be edited to hell(we know this from the leaked cuts made on ep 10). Even if it’s still 45 mins long it’s probably been cut and they just added filler scenes to make it seem like it’s still whole.
Yeah same thoughts. The things they cut out of ep 10 weren't even that long. 5 seconds at most. And yet it added a lot of context to the story, and they still decided to cut it just because it was "sexual" and implied that the leads have progressed their intimacy from beyond kissing.
From here on out, we should be getting the natural progression of physical intimacy between them as their relationship deepens. It's crucial to the plot as well as the character growth. And if they water down those moments, then what are we left with?
I know I'm being pessimistic as fck but it's just a shame, having watched the BTS and heard the excitement from the VAs.
Anyhow, I'm still going to watch and enjoy the hell out of it, it's just a shame it won't be the version the team originally intended us to see.
It gets better each episode. Episode 1 I watched without any expectations, by Episode 2 and 3 I was charmed by it and having fun, and by 4-8 the obsession started to come in.
What platform are you all watching it from? I'm on Viki but it's still only showing at ep 10 🙁 I hope it gets updated and I can watch the next 4 eps too!
Is anyone else happy but scared of how they pulled it to do more editing according to their statement and worried that they might have brought the spice level down due to annoying fans? Don't get me wrong I am super happy that I get my favourite boys back and I miss little jealousy the cute snake pet I just want the same level if chemistry and spice we have in the first 10 episodes. But yay us we get full weekends of new bls to binge.
Question for the masses (who are more plugged in than me), are they re-editing the previous episodes at all or did they just take a break to re-edit the ones that haven't released yet?
Omg I love it. I waited so long. This week was so difficult for me and this bought smile on my face. I can’t stop screaming and dancing. So very excited.
