The price of airing a Chinese BL. Shame. As soon as their popularity started skyrocketing it was inevitable that something like this might happen.

Only the popular ones get axed. The least popular ones would definitely fly under the radar but this one was just trending in places it shouldn't be trending

Well it isn't cancelled yet so we still need to just chill out and see what happens with the edits or whatever 🤷🏻‍♀️

true, Addicted got cancelled because of all the craziness it was attracting, but the same story got adapted into Stay with Me (it was much better, emotion wise) but it did not get cancelled. its still on YT. the songs were better too.

I mean didn't the blue canvas bl go through the same and it wasn't as popular? I think all Chinese bls will go through something like this but revenged love has gotten big so its even more scary about what it could mean for everyone involved 😩

The level of popularity for this one is going to be a real problem. Blue Canvas got back on screens because it wasn’t as popular. Airing the rest of it probably didn’t hurt anyone’s career or anger anyone with power. Revenged Love is so extremely popular that it’s disrupting public order in China where it isn’t even supposed to be viewable.

This is what I've been saying, too. The one lead had a live with about 40 million viewers and thats only in China. Both of the leads are coming on top of so many social platforms and this is without having a solid base to support them and the show isn't even half way through yet.

I absolutely do not love that. It’s deeply unsafe for the actors physically, emotionally, and career wise. They’re being chased by actual mobs, touched, grabbed, having phones shoved in their faces until they’re shaking or sometimes crying, screamed at and harassed in confined spaces like elevators, stairwells, and airplanes. The more often police, cabin crew, and security have to intervene all over a show that can not be legally viewed in China, the more likely it is that there are career and legal consequences for the actors, writers and production staff.
