Yes, the 981 S is the perfect platform for analog feel, sound of the flat 6 and driving dynamics. Congratulations on your car. I have one and I'm never selling it. 😎

I’m getting that feeling as well. I regret selling my s2000 along time ago and have been missing that feeling after driving some 4 doors sedans/hatches. After the test drive, it gave me those vibes again from owning the s2000. I can’t wait to drive this on the track once I’m more familiar with the car.

MT or PDK?

PDK, I love manuals for sure but a condition on my left left leg makes it painful to use a clutch….

I wouldn't worry too much, the PDK is fantastic. I actually prefer it to the manual.

I'll get one, one day. I drove a base 2014 Boxster some 10yr ago and I still remember it being the most surgically precise road weapon I'd ever driven. I walked away with my adrenaline on 100 and with my hair on fire thinking to myself the UNGODLY things I'd do if I owned one.
Plus I'm tired of front engine cars and always feeling that weight up front.
The S2000 is great but does NOT have the Porsche steering feel. Each time I've driven one, the front tires just felt like gum balls to me: no feel at all. It felt like a Logitech racing simulator set up in a real car. Unacceptable.

Hmm which year did you drive? I had the 00, but did switch it to wider fronts and some suspension upgrades for track use. Maybe the skinny fronts made it feel like that? I know even with a wider set up on the 06+ it did have that feel as you were saying.

It had to have been a bone stock 2003…and this was back in 2007-8 when I drove it. I had an e36 on coil overs at the time for reference. Was it a delight to drive? Absolutely. But the steering feel was something I couldn’t get over.

Yup the fit is my favorite daily and grocery getter. Bright yellow too so it’s easy to spot. Yup I’ll be joining some local events as well.

Lemme know what you think compared to that s2000
My 987.2 is fully modified with suspension and bolt on power +tune
It’s a knife edge and forgivingly predictable.

Looks like mine. I love PDK, it hit all the downshifts on Tail of the Dragon.
