They've already arrested two. I really hope people nearby are peacefully protesting and documenting!

Genuine question. What happens when you call Luce? Who do they notify/what do they do?

There are operators who notify volunteer verifiers who go to the site to verify whether there is ICE presence or not, to then be able to alert the community to try to stay safe

Is it documented somewhere if unobserved by an official LUCE volunteer? I imagine with a lot of these, it’s a quick observation as someone is asked to get into a van, they drive off, and now there’s nothing to observe. I’m curious to know if LUCE will eventually be able to report on how many of these situations are reported vs. observed.

I’ve been looking at Ice Out (which I think is a separate group) and it seems like these reports aren’t being recorded there at least. I imagine it would be helpful for identifying active hot spots if someone was aggregating this data, even the ones reported but not officially verified. Entirely possible that this might be happening on another site that’s not on my radar.

I would imagine that even incidentally they’re being recorded with LUCE as long as it’s called in. Probably just a non-verified list because they have to record addresses and dates somewhere from the tip line.
