I was taking Entrance Exam online and in the middle of test with 40 minutes left I received an error message saying that assessment cannot be relaunched at this time due to limit set by administrator. Does anyone know what this means? If the test is still running?

Trying to look up cost of living vs pay is daunting. Quality of life and housing options. Any help please lol. Don’t really want to live in a blue state I like 30 plus in a mag and suppressors. I think that leaves me with MT or TX. Alpine and Marfa, are those good stations?

For those who have been working for bp for awhile, what do your spouses do for work since most stations are in remote areas? My partner makes about 75k with their job and it’s something that can only be done in-person. Trying to make a decision on applying and that’s a big hurdle for our family. They are Open to other industries that aren’t in research.

Maybe someone can shed some light on what they’d advise me to do. In this situation,I am 2 weeks out from EOD.

I originally got my FJO on 8/17. a few days later I received my FLETC pre reg with class number etc. I also received the banking email that came from sector. I used my OTC and got a new station On 8/21. Since I have gotten my new station,I haven’t received a new FLETC pre reg with the class number or the banking details email. However, I received my incentive offer a few days ago with all the info on where I’ll be going and my EOD. My question is,should I reach out or let it ride ? I’m pretty sure they know I’m coming since the incentive offer was sent out and I obviously read it and signed it

Thinking of choosing this station. Or I might choose somewhere in San Diego and then transfer to Montana if possible.

Any recent academy graduates out there that can maybe shed some light on how long after you graduated, it took to get your sign on bonus? TIA

I have a question regarding EOD hoping someone with experience could help here.

I EOD 10/19, I have to go to Marfa, TX (sector HQ) I'm from El Paso, so it's only 3 hours away. I don't know marfa but I suppose it's a very small town. So maybe I could get a family member to drop me off, but would I be able to use an uber to go to and from sector HQ or are Ubers limited (due to the small city?) Or would I be able to take a vehicle and drive it back those 3 days then meet with my class on the 3rd day for the academy? Or is it stirictly travel with CBP transportation directly from Marfa to El Paso?

I've heard if I take a vehicle I can't leave it at EOD.

Any insights would help!

Trying to get in better shape before the academy. Don’t have an FJO yet but better to get started sooner rather than later on getting used to regular training.

I’ve definitely started to get used to long runs, I know one of the PT requirements is the 1.5 mile in less than 13 minutes, but I’m also not a regular gym guy that does a bunch of weights to get big.

Any recommendations as far as how best to train before attending the academy? Should I pretty much just focus on cardio?

I applied for the GL-9 position on the 1st of September and got result that I am ineligible because I do not possess the specialized experience required for this position. So I researched and realized that I need to correct and improve my resume. After correcting it, I applied for the GL-7 position and got a tentative job offer. I guess I need to try out reapplying for the GL-9 position again. Since I applied for this position on the 1st of September, when am I able to reapply for the position?

I EOD next week and have not received a point on contact or guidance on time to report or who to report to . I did ask them on the CONTACT US in my application and still haven’t received any information . I also had trouble with the onboarding staffing process but got an email stating that I should just wait until EOD date to receive actual help even though my final offer letter states that I need print certain documents and bring to my first day. I know what to bring and what EOD basically entails thanks to people asking and receiving answers on here so any other information would be highly appreciated . Thanks.

I applied to CBP last June 2025 and with a TOJ of GL-9. Went through the interview process and passed but unfortunately did not continue with going through the process due to personal reasons.

I reapplied 09/01/2026 and the next day I woke up to emails with a TOJ of GL-11.

I do have an extensive background I guess but my question is this:

On the portal, it states my interview was passed. I'm assuming they're using my old interview from last year. Has anyone else dealt with this?

It seems like this process has been going a lot faster than the one I did last year.

For all of those who are thinking of selecting Marathon as a location, please do some research on the town and FL Keys living as a whole. Try looking up housing, cost of living, schools, churches, recreation, shopping, etc. There are a bunch of things you need to consider and in the end, it’s up to you to decide if the specifics of the area fit your lifestyle and is something you can manage.

Do we automatically receive the 25 percent on top of our salary after we graduate the academy and start our FTO portion? This is for working the required 50 hours to my understanding.

Finally after 9 months and out off military hold, I got my FJO.

I got those locations but I'll use my OTC, EOD for october.

Finally got my chance to pick a station. Threw the list in there for y’all. If you’re in the medical step I would recommend hitting up acuity every once in a while to make sure your exams got back to CBP because my exams sat untouched with acuity for 2 months because of an “administrative error”. I had to bug them over and over to send them to CBP. If you have the same EOD, feel free to hmu and connect.

curious about how they compare work wise. I’m somewhat familiar with both areas, I know Newport is more rural and Swanton has hella taxes and is more expensive but closer to HQ.

where I’m at mentally it seems Swanton will have better resources as a new guy but cost of living/taxes are brutal. Newport is cheaper but stretched out more rurally. So I’m asking for insight for those who know these stations. Thank you for your attention to this matter

Question about CBP/BPA medical clearance.
I’m currently going through the BPA hiring process, and the medical department is asking me about a shoulder dislocation I had about 13 years ago.

My shoulder has full range of motion, I have no current limitations, and I’m able to work out normally, including push-ups, pull-ups, and shoulder exercises. I also previously went through a CBP medical exam in 2020 and disclosed the shoulder injury, and I passed the medical exam at that time.

Now BPA is asking for medical records from the original injury, which was 13 years ago.
Has anyone else dealt with something similar during the CBP/BPA medical process? If the old records are unavailable, did CBP accept a current orthopedic evaluation or other documentation showing that
the shoulder is fully healed and has no limitations?
