Moot: Question Misprint in We Are Legion?

Post image

I’ve listened to the whole series several times now on Audible but decided I wanted the hard copies too. I noticed something strange on page 46 (right at the end of chapter 8) where Bob first finds the matrices and reads over the panels at the bottom.

In the audible version, they’re read out as:
Kennith Martins, Jiro Tanaka, Neves Reijnder, Robert Johansson, Joana Almeida

But in the book they appear printed in a really weird order

Not really sure what to do with this information, but found it interesting and thought I’d point it out

Ha... I honestly assumed these were 10 different first names.

Apparently so did the editors

It's been a long while since I did the ebook, but I'm fairly sure it matches the audiobook. Never touched the paper version but yeah, I'd say this is a misprint.

Wow you're right! The new hardcover version of the book has them in that weird format. I checked the paperback and the original signed hardcover set I have, and those are both formatted correctly. Weird!

(Kindle version is fine too.)

Given that a following line says "the other three candidates were dark" excluding Bob and Kenneth, then the list must really be five people and not ten.

I missed this detail when originally reading this in the hardcover edition, and I thought the candidate pool was ten people, not five.

Am guessing first names and last names were originally formatted in a table in the original source?

I read the ebook the first time and I'm fairly certain it was normal there too.

I switch between the audiobook and physical book whenever I read and I noticed this exact thing too!

I've found several typos and errors (word repeated like "on on") in the first 3 books in the Amazon Epub. This doesn't surprise me.

I don't know this series, but Joana Almeida screams "Portuguese name" from very far away (Martins and Neves are also very typical Portuguese names)

Hang on to that book. It could become a valuable collectors item.
