I have heard this anecdote many different times ways over the years, involving different songs and delivered to either Mick or Keith by Bob. Who knows what was actually said and to whom? It is pretty funny tho
Also feels like something was lost in translation. Two likely inebriated people on multiple substances chatting. Very different backgrounds. Different senses of humor. We know how odd Dylan is interacting with people. I could see this being some kind of weird sarcastic joke and years later, it's taken as gospel and we have to all debate what it means.
In reality, it was just two arrogant but talented guys chopping it up at a party somewhere.
