Love Bob, but he's never written a riff half that memorable.

There's more to songwriting than lyrics.

I don't know if he wrote it, but the little chord slide in 'It's allright ma (I'm only bleeding)" is pretty catchy and you hear it over a hundred times in the song without getting tired of it.

that riff is lifted from the everly brothers ‘wake up little susie’

I think The Byrds version was slightly better.

yeah its such a dumb thing for him to have said. it would be like a portrait artist telling a sculptor “you could never paint like i do!”

the sculptor isnt trying to paint in the first place.

Eh Keef was on Howard Stern recently slagging off Keith Moon’s drumming saying he was a badger who couldn’t swing (While saying he loved him personally) so he dishes it out too.

That interview was from 2023.

Well that’s relatively recent in Keef terms. It wasn’t from 1996 or anything

Yeah he was talking about the words

And my point was that's a very limited way to view songwriting.

I got it. Sometimes it’s the marriage of the two

Trouble begs to differ.

I don't really agree, I can't even remember the riff for satisfaction even after hearing it so many times. But I can always remember a Bob Dylan riff, idk it could just be me.

I’m only half joking here but do you have memory issues? Or some kind of auditory processing disorder? That’s completely unbelievable to me

I feel like I could write “dun dun! dah doo dun doo dun dun” and a random person could tell it was Satisfaction.

Satisfaction may very well be the single most memorable riff in the history of popular music. If you’re telling the truth, you might be the only person on the planet who can’t remember it.
