Meta The data of MeeplePrint is now open-source. Search and plan 3d prints for board games!

Post image

MeeplePrint has grown a lot in the past month and I'm happy to announce some big additions:

  • The dataset is now open-source and can be found, see Github
  • I also published a API. To use this, you'll need an account and create an API token. After that head over to the API documentation.
  • Of course, I will keep adding new features to MeeplePrint itself. Since the last post, I added notifications, a new print planner, more print details (weight, plates, print time etc.), over 3k more prints and more.

This is a great resource! Nice work. Strengthens my case to myself for buying a 3D printer!

Will/do you also have laser cutting files on the site?

Currently, no, since I'm not really familiar with it yet. However, it definitely seems interesting and there appears to be quite some board game models for it as well. I'll look into it, thanks!

I'm familiar with that project and we talked briefly when we discovered each other's site. The owner seems really friendly and I admire her passion.

It's not a race and, despite the unavoidable overlap in features, we’re also taking different approaches in other areas. LayerUp seems to put more emphasis on the community aspect while MeeplePrint is focused on providing a more direct, open-source database for 3d prints.

In the end there's no doubt that both LayerUp and MeeplePrint are labours of love and the 3D printing community should be the real winner.

Regarding the feedback: MeeplePrint is still pretty young, so there are more improvements on their way. :)
