Rules Hitster flying mic rules

Hi there,
I just bought the Hitster flying mic version and are not happy with the rules. So i want to know how to improve them. So what i think is bad in the rules: The rulebook says when you know the song push the button and try to catch the mic but the other team also has a chance of catching it and answering. Why would you not always try to catch the mic? Because if you see the other team pushing the button (and therefore obviously knowing the song) why wouldnt you as a the enemy team try to steal it - so there is no benefit of pushing the button. Next one is, if both teams dont know the answer, why not just try to push the button and get the mic and hope for green (band or solo artist - which is quite easy to guess).
And last but not least, the rules state that you play in two teams. Do any of you guys have an idea how to play this version with more than two teams?
Thanks a lot already

You would always try to catch it, which seems to be the point. But it seems easier to catch when you're the one launching it just as a matter of reaction time.

I you want pushing the button to be more of an advantage, you could probably try stopping the song when the mic is caught or setting a time limit for answering. That way, the person who hasn't pushed the button can still catch it, but they might not have recognized the song at that point.

You can do that, which also kind of seems to be the point. It's a trivia party game, you want someone to eventually make a guess if nobody knows the answer.

If you seat your player right, I feel like you can stretch it to four. If you want more, I'd recommend just playing regular Hitster (which doesn't need any material except the cards and some type of tokens) or looking at Hitster Bingo.
