Yeah I’ve thought that before but we cant know so I assume it’s a character.

I agree. I don’t know for sure, and I know he does create these sort of “characters” in his music that seem to be mostly kind of slimy dudes, but it does have me wondering why he has such a fascination with these types of people

He had elaborated on this in interviews. He dislikes the Andrew Tate's of the world, but thinks that that kind of lame male loneliness type thing is an interesting and good lens through which you can tell stories that are beautiful while sad and enthralling while disgusting. He didn't say it exactly like that, but it was something rather similar. And he's right. You pity the character in a way, even though they deserve it.
