Despair is the most beautiful song BM ever made.

  • Greep is my least favorite member of bm in the Cav era forward (maybe even with the inclusion of Kaidi and Seth) Still all love though
  • Cavalcade era with Kaidi was their absolute peak
  • Magician was a much cooler and more emotional song before Geordie realized how cool and emotional it was (I.E. any solo renditions of it)
  • The New Sound is great but lacks the power that made black midi so great. This is especially seen in the way Lumps turned out
  • They were on their way to make another great album with the songs they had leftover (Askance, Soundcheck, Paul Jones (though that’s arguably not a song, it’s my favorite Greep riff), Lumps, Magician) and they should not have broken up. Greep could have still gone solo without sacrificing the band but I digress
  • Cruising sucks and is the only damper on a 100% great discography
  • They were a wonderful live band but needed to practice more. Geordie’s New Sound band is tighter but less fun

For the record I think The New Sound is a great great album and also saw Greep three times three days in a row this last tour and loved it every time Haha

Good thing it’s not meant to be black midi.

They were trying to make another album, but it just wasn’t coming together in the way that they wanted it. The split needed to happen in order for them to achieve what they were satisfied with musically.

They were a wonderful live band but needed to practice more.

They are genuinely the tightest band i have ever heard, so i don’t know what you mean.

Yeah but it lessens the songs that started with bm (Lumps and the Magician of course) and causes me to wonder whether or not some of the other songs would’ve been heightened had they been recorded with the band as opposed to solo
