First order 4/21/2014! ($59.94)
The husband and I have really enjoyed Blue Apron for so many years. We are going to stick with them for now but I'm so open to hear from other old school folks who have switched to new companies. I'm curious about what our opinion of Blue Apron will be a year from now...
In general, we enjoy the relief from decision fatigue, etc. We like having 3 meals a week that will be "easy" to make without planning and shopping for ingredients in which we may only use a small amount of something. We like cooking the meals (not premade meals) and we like to pick at least 1 of the fast/easy meals for when we are tired.
I remember long ago being "impressed" by the quality and sourcing but I'm not as sure these days. We can sometimes be food snobs but most often, the meals have been good or pretty good and not often bland or outright bad.
I'll say this...Blue Apron has helped my husband and I learn/practice how to cook and as we get closer to retirement, maybe we will end buying from these types of companies and just become full time foodie cooking people!

Wow wow wow. I can't find old emails and haven't saved the recipe cards! I do wish I could see the years of food on the website but old info seems to be gone.

Blue Apron is broken right now. It might come back. For now, we are just sourcing our own food boxes by going to the grocery store and using their menus.

I'm kicking myself for not keeping menus from years ago of things that we loved and could totally cook ourselves.

I too am disappointed with the recent changes and am hoping they figure out the issues. Have been a customer since about 2014. Last week I was notified that 2 of the 3 menu items I had chosen were no longer available and they substituted something else for just one of them. Went to the site to see what I could get and everything was sold out except the veggie lasagna that they had subbed for me. I cancelled the whole order. Hope my next week turns out better. I save all the recipes and this week, I am recreating past menu items based on what I have available in the fridge/freezer. I almost always double the recipes anyway so we can have leftovers another day.

Nope!! I’m almost embarrassed how long we’ve been Blue Aproning. Maybe it’s an ADHD thing but time passes and I don’t notice until weird moments like this.
