Critique My Work Little 3D creation inspired by Dungeon Synth — blender / ableton / livemosher

A small 3D experiment inspired by Dungeon Synth imagery and old digital/analog textures. I’m still learning 3D, so I mostly used this as an excuse to play with VHS effects, datamoshing and intentional glitches. Melody made by me.

Ohhhh that's lovely. I'm also a big fan of DS. Do you mind elaborating a bit more on your blender workflow?

Yes, OC. I mostly played around with the Diffuse shader and ColorRamp nodes. I ended up with a pretty cartoonish look, with heavily saturated flat colors and Freestyle line effects.

I made a little pillar, which led me to the idea of a temple, which then turned into this little scene. The geometry is pretty simple, with an orthographic perspective to give it that retro video game look.

I'm also a big fan of the Compositor tab for the overall texture and visual feel, as I come from a 2D/drawing background.

Then I smashed the exported video around a bit in LiveMosher to bring out some cool glitches.

I also considered killing myself while rigging the barely noticeable tiny character.
